If know of a descendant of Ranger Dan that has been proven to produce the type dogs that you like then go for it. It is foolish to breed to or buy pups just because they haves a famous dog in their pedigree. Don't believe me? Check out the pedigrees of the dogs offered for sale and count the number of great dogs in their pedigree., then think about it.

That's the strangest thing, he sees them but don't sight chase them?
I've watched brace dogs foot print track down a line while the rabbit sat out in the open 15 yards ahead of them, they didn't use their eyes at all, totally engrossed with the foot print smell.
I know ranger dan was a rabbit dog, but I can't see taking pride in one that doesn't have the desire to try an catch a rabbit it sees...just seems odd...but I get the feeling your proud of this and that's the main thing that your happy with it... ;)

He does site chase when he gets the rabbit up but he had ran this one around once, rabbit come five feet beside me I watch him I seen he seen it because he rased his head up and look for 1 second and put his nose down and went on with the track I run in a gravel pit most of the tracking is on rock and sand this is the only place I have to run here in Cayuga Indiana this is mostly open running

PAhardwoods I bred my sport female to Fc Honey Hollows Elvis. She's do the 15th of May can't wait to see what I get. I watched two daugthers out of Elvis run a few weeks back and have spoken few beaglers who have hunted over him and ran up againsted in trials and he is one really nice hound. Theres a story written by his owner Al in this months Better Beagling magazine. Good luck
