When mine stand I can usually start seeing a difference in their tits around the 3rd or 4th week after they have been bred. You should see some swelling in them even before she starts showing in her belly. Good luck with your pups.

Bout 6 wks. You should see something by then. I ran one in a trial at 5 weeks. She came in third, had 10 pups and raised everyone.

You can palpate her abdomen and feel the pups by now. Put one hand under her belly between her back legs and gently squeeze. You should be able to feel little lumps the size of marbles or walnuts. It is easier to detect them after the bitch has ran for an hour or just prior to feeding when she is gaunt. The pups about double in size daily so in a few days they will be the size of a hen egg. In a couple of weeks the uterus will be come stronger and its difficult to differentiate between individual pups. By then her belly will begin to enlarge.

now that you mention that. When I picked her up I put my hand under her belly. I could of swore I felt something like lil hard bumps.

I'm excited for sure. I haven't had a litter of pups in a good while. Can't wait

Joey, I can see a difference between the first and last picture. Unless she just ate a big dinner, I would say she has little ones growing inside. Good luck with your pups!

She is about half way there,I would guess that she should be very swelled by now.If her last breeding was 15 of Feb. that should put her having them around 19 of April.just my two cents.

she is defiantly growing. But she has grown WIDE. Like a big WIDE show box shape. I let her out to run around the yard last night and she was like a cinderblock..........lol

Question - When does her belly drop. The last week or so.

I'll have a picture tuesday.

Joey,

When you have them in hard running shape like I think you had her, the belly wont drop as bad and look all sloppy because of her muscle tone. The exception is a litter of 10+.

In my experience dogs in good shape have a much easier time whelping than the 10 year old "brood bitches" you hear about that never get out of pen. Ive never lost more than 1 pup in a litter Ive whelped and usually dont loose any. I attribute that to my gyps being in good physical shape and a common sense whelping box.

I can tell your excited about this litter, just as I get.

Did you cross her with one of your males, whats the breeding?

Good luck with your litter. You have a nice looking female. Judging by her tail it looks like she hits the brush pretty hard.

Yeah she was in very good shape when I had her bred to Yellowdog's Branko's Ringo Star. Nice and slim. I ran her pretty good yesterday. She did a lot of running. It's like some days she looks big and then the next she's almost normal looking. I'll take a picture tonight and put it up tomorrow.

Due date April 15th or so. Her last litter which was a few years ago she only had 4. Don't know how many she'll have this time.

and Yeah I very excited. I haven't fooled with pups in for ever.
