LOST / LP Grand Rabbit Champion Westmoreland's Flash

Post by Jim Stinnett »

Its with a sad heart I write this. Jessie Conley & I where running dogs in Hobart, IN on 2/22/09. We had ran like 3 hours or so. It was getting time to go so we waited until the dogs got close & made a loss so we could call them in. We where running 6 dogs. All Jessie dogs came in but only 2 of mine came in. I called & called. Stupid me did not have my tracking collars on my dogs. I never do when I run them at home. I lost her at 5:15pm. I waited there until after 10pm, calling & calling. Nothing. At 10:30pm I laid my coat down & went home. Jessie checked the coat at midnight. Nothing. I got up at 4am & went up there. Still nothing. Jessie ran dogs there for 3 hours the next morning. Nothing. Flash has been gone 48 hours now & it makes me sick. I am still hoping she shows up but I am doubtful now. Flash was coming 10 years old. So running off game was out of the question. Its like she just disappeared.

Flash was a ARHA Little Pack Grand Rabbit Champion, ARHA LP Show Champion
Placed 8th one year at the Little World. Placed 9th the next year at the Little World.
Placed 4th one year at the TN State hunt.

She was the best beagle I had ever owned. Hope she shows up!

How far were you from home? Lotsa folks see a hound out take it in or a hound will go to nearby farm. Some well meaning people take them to shelters. Hope your hound finds her way back home. Lots of hounds I find on the third day, seems that's when they've 'bout had enough.

ps...how is Jessie? Does he have any hounds left from the Larsen High Tower X Dottie Patch cross?

Put up as many signs as you can. Lost Beagle with your phone number. It may work

Also walk the property some she could have gotten hurt. You never know.

Jim
Buddy Im saddened to read this, I sure hope you can find her and get her back
I have had this happen to me lots... But we didnt have tracking collars 30 yrs ago
like we do today. Let this be a lesson to everyone, "Never" leave home
without them on your dogs, if you have them. Jim im not trying to put you down at
all with my post on tracking collars, But your losing your dog made me look at my own
hounds,"That I still dont have tracking collars For" But this is going to change as quick
as I can make it happen. Jim I feel gut wrenched for you my friend and Hope she shows up and SOON .

Day 3 now. Flash was wearing an orange collar with my name & number on it.
We have walked the whole area. Walked all fence lines.

Still Nothing. Thanks for all the kind words.
