We let me start off by saying. These are the makings of a great La swamp rabbit hunt. Friends= Water W., Chris H, Greg C, Greg's son in law Ronnie,Keinnan, My son David, and me. Great food, A country cabin, Country Music, 12 hounds red dog,patch, satsuma and some old time patch ironmike cross and 6000 ac of young pine and cut over. It had rained the day before and conditions seemed to be perfect. We got up on Sat ate a good breakfast and were in the woods by day break. There were plenty of sign we dropped in a big cut over that was thick and had saw brairs that cut like a box cutter. Being in the woods with friends is worth its weight in gold. Then the talking started and it goes like this if its brown it down, if you miss we will cut you shirt tail off, if the dogs cant keep him going they will be at the dog pound LOL and so on. The dogs jumped and the race was on the circled twice before Keinnan with one shot dead rabbit. We then decided to move to the woods. The dogs jumped a big swamper and it cross by me and Greg shot miss. the rabbit ran for another 30 min before hitting the high line David was waiting boom, boom, boom reload shell, shell boom boom there he goes. Now my son is normally a great shot the hound were in full cry and I was on the ground laughing. Well he hit the rabbit and one of Chris dogs caught the rabbit. Well we killed 5 before calling the dogs and going in for lunch. we did have a great mourning. We were goin to go to another spot for the evening hunt. I will post pic later.
