found dead beagle

Man, I thought nothing could ruin a hunt more than a downpour but I was wrong. Went out with the dogs this past Saturday outside of Gettysburg, Pa and 30 minutes into the hunt found a dead beagle. The collar was gone but you could see where it used to be and the dog had a bullet hole behind the ear and another through the abdomen :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: . Later on we found where he had been shot in the parking area. There was a big spot of blood and then a smaller one down in the creek. I'm guessing that the initial shot behind the ear wasn't immediate and the dog jumped down in the creek where the second one hit him in the abdomen. The dog wasn't very old, I'd guess his age at about 5 years or so and he looked well fed. This just iritates me to no end. How hard would it have been to give it away. :angryfire:

It's amazing what the anti-hunter's will do. Steal your dog while you're hunting, remove the tracking collar, and shoot the dog so you can't hun't any more. Anti's are some sick people.

Wow...didn't mean to ruffle any feathers here. To me, people that do this aren't beaglers and sure as heck aren't hunters so I wouldn't have included them as being part of what we all do. I figure it's the same as if you posted about poachers as is done on the countless other hunting boards I belong to. To me, they're not hunters either. If this post is gonna cause that much of a stir then go ahead and remove it and sweep it under the carpet.

Finding a dead dog that has been shot does not prove a beagler/hunter left a cull in the woods. You can draw any conclusion you want. When I run dogs I often see dead dogs of various breeds lying in the brush.
If you choose to believe it's a hunter and want to put a guilt trip on someone then it's a free board. Personally I think it is not newsworthy.

Maybe it didn't have enough nose from too much line breeding.
