sounds like your ready to roll.
i feed black gold black bag
870 --20 GA I/C with # 6 shot
i have a real nice boxmade of 3/4 in. ply wood sealed and painted 3 hole with vents. $100 bucks to build.
i use the pet crate in the summer. it's cooler
i want an owens someday.
if u hall them in back of a pick up i would make sure you have a cover or some protection over them when it's cold out.

Black Gold is good food. Especially since I've got an older female that developed an allergy to corn. Shopped around and for the money Black Gold was a far better deal than the "specialty" foods that are corn, soy, and wheat free. Haven't found a distributor in my area yet but ya better believe I'm still looking.

Black Gold is the best I have fed, but too high around here.

Im feeding pride, and it is similar to Sportmix as far as dogs having energy.

your gun is fine, and very reliable.

a good safe dog box out of plywood as mentioned earlier.(crooks are less likely to steal it)if you can get a "pre-made"box at a great deal,go for it.

a good quality dog food.(i'm not fan of purina)i feed diamond extreme athlete. black gold is not sold in my area but,i hear it's good stuff.

SPEND MOST OF YOUR MONEY ON QUALITY DOGS(which you may already have.)but they don't last forever.if your hunting with buddies you'll want your dogs to SMOKE theres!!!!your guys dogs will be the center of the vast majority of your hunting memories and stories.

i hope you have as much joy running your hounds,as i have had with mine.

another hint for ya.
i put a strap on my 870 ,, so i did't have to lay it down when i was trying to put 3 or 4 dogs on lead an they walk all over it.
which works out nice becauls now i can walk around with my hands in my pockets untill the rabbit is up an running.
it.s nice not have to pack it around all day flopping back an forth so your arms dont get tired.

great advise!i use slings on all my hunting guns. triple s "hit the nail on the head".when every thing around you is slop,it's nice to have your gun hanging from your shoulder or,across your back.

I agree with all of the above and can only add this: I was told to check the list of ingredients on the dog fod. Meat or meat by products should be the first thing on the list and corn should not be until at least third on list. I have never seen a pack of beagles grazing in a corn field. Danny
