TRI-TRONICS QUESTION (UPDATE)

Has anyone else had a Charging Cradle get "HOT" after only a short time???
I have the Trashbreaker G2 EXP. I have not had any problems with the unit until now. I touched my Charging Cradle after 2 hours of charging and you could not hold it . The vents were not blocked in the back .
The cradle light is still on solid red and I don't think the collar took a charge.
I did order another. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen.

My TT SportCombo G3 came with a cradle and transformer marked "Made in China". Somehow it's kept working OK for about a year. If yours was also made in China, don't be surprised that it crapped out. Please pardon my really bad attitude toward Chinese made junk being dumped on our shores.

I was told by a Tri-Tronic's Rep. to leave the unit /charger pluged up and it would be fine "AS LONG AS IT IS NOT ON FIRE."
The Charging Cradle is so" HOT" after only 3 hours that I won't leave the house or go to sleep with it pluged in.
In no way will I leave it pluged in over night.
I was also told that the range problem's with some of the unit's were due to people not leaving the reciever and transmiter pluged in at ALL TIME'S when not being used. In other words........ Unit's not being charged up enough will give the range problem.
I guess it can't be their equipment as the problem
Anyone else NOT buying that????

I had one stay on red and would not take a charge. I took the battery off of the collar and put it back on and it has worked fine since. I can not remember if the cradle was hot.

I have had one get hot..real hot.. unplugged it..have a 2 collar unit so i used the one that did not get hot for both. several weeks later i tryed it and it worked fine been working like it should for the several charges. I have also had a range problem..with one collar..i worked with a techy from tt over the phone to the point he said something is seriously wrong for me to send the unit to them plus 60 bucks. About 3 weeks later i received in the male a new unit. I suggested to anyone that has tt collars test for range problems prior to your warranty running out. I do not have a clue if the time the charger got hot had anything to do with the range problems i really think it was 2 seperate problems. I say 2 because i think the getting hot just dont seem right however i failed to mention this to the tt specialist.

I got an e-mail today from Tri-Tronics. They are sending a new reciever and Charging cradle. I just have to mail my reciever and cradle to them in exchange.
I feel my reciever is fine and the trouble is in my charing cradle. I'm just glad they are doing something about it.

If you guys want to end all of your shocker problems try a Sportdog 2500 (6 dog) or 3200 (4 dog). If you have any problems with their product they send you a replacement free of charge, no questions asked. They use Fedex and you are back in business in a couple days free of charge. I have found them to have great range with as hot or hotter shock as tri-tronic.
