I took my little cousin Ryan again this year he got a 6 point..to him it was a monster. Its nice to see that exitement and just enjoying the moment and having a good time. Seems like when we get older we forget how this feels and we take it too serious trophy hunting. I get more thrill anymore of watching him.
Here is a pic of my 7 year old with his first one earlier this fall. He isn't stout enough yet to use anything else during archery season so he used my grandfather's crossbow to kill her. She only made it about 70 yards. He followed the trail to her his self...all i really had to do was field dress her for him.
Since then he has also killed a doe with a muzzleloader, and i plan to get one out in front of him while he has a rifle in his hand over the holiday weekend.
mine is getting older now (16 ) but hes still a youth to me , he killed his 9th deer this year , has killed 4 turkeys , a coyote and alot of small game , i just got back into rabbit hunting last year so it is new to him and hes figuring out that its not as easy as it looks to hit them bunnies , but i think hes hooked, best hunting buddy i got
This was what my daughter took last year, at 9 years old. It was her first buck. She went ahead and took a large doe on the last day of rifle season this year.

We had a great day with the kids! Cabela's & Dick's Sporting Goods provided some nice door prizes for everyone. I don't think anyone one went home empty handed.
* I enjoy meeting new Beaglers & Squirrel Dog Owners. It's a blessing to find other's with such unique interests.
* I also enjoy helping future hunters.
