Coyotes

Post by golden acres »

Turned my house dog out to go to the bathroom after dark. Coyote chased her right to my sliding door. She ran in and did her duty right on the floor. First time in probably five years. Bas tards are getting brave. They sure did make alot of noice after she was in the house. Glad my kennels are completely closed with border fence

Quick cure for that... 12 gauge and 3 inch shells slinging #2 shot at them. Pretty sure they wont consider your place such an easy spot to hunt after that.

Looks like he shot it left side of neck as it was running at him. My question is what kind of rifle did you kill it with? :D

They're Patch Hounds. They didn't catch this one but they do run them down on occasion. The dogs get run 3 to 4 days a week so they get in shape quick. And yes they do fight. The rifle used was a 17 cal.

I have heard these dogs referred to as Patch Hounds before. Could you please explain what a Patch Hound is?

A Patch Hound is a bloobline of beagle started in 1896 by Willet Randall in up state New York. One of his first hounds was a white male with a black patch over the middle of his back. His name was Forest Patch. Willet registered him with the A.K.C. as Patch and thats how the bloodline got it's name. In my opinion they have grit and stamina like no other and thats why we use them on yotes.
