I am interested in some feedback on what type dog boxes people prefer. The one I have now is a homemade box that has served me well and is in good shape, but it is very heavy. Need something durable but light. Easy to load and unload. Needs to hold 6 beagles comfortably.
Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance.

I just got a new Diamon Delux. It is light and easy to load, however I am afraid it may be too easy to unload so I have it bolted to the truck. It looks good and I do not want to return from the woods to find that someone else thought it look good to them too. I never had to even think about any one taking my old home-made box. This one is 38 X 46 inches with top storage. It will hold 8 dogs and I love the top storage.....Harvey

Harvey,
Did you order the box, or is there a dealer in your area that handles them? The only place close around here that handles dog boxes is a truck accessory shop and I ain't gonna pay their price.

thanks for the input

Bullboy,

Are your boxes insulated? If so what do you get for a 3 dog with no top storage. For a full size pickup. Also where are you located. I am in Michigan.

Thanks
Mike

Kip, the diamond plate boxes are very nice but can still be heavy when insulated. You should go with aluminum for lightness try this site out. http://www.dogbox.com The aluminum ones can easily be loaded by one person with little effort. Also there is couple made out of a hard plastic with storage on top also. Try Transport Kennel (877)272-9200. There's another company that makes a plastic kennel but with no top storage but i don't have there add handy right now. It's just like a oversized two compartment pet carrier that can be loaded with no strain whatsoever. Good luck in your search.

For a ultra-lightweight, very moveable box, try one of the "Easy Loader" boxes. I have one that I ordered from WICKS for a small pickup. It has a removable center divider with handles on the top for easy moving. My 8 year old daughter can move this box in and out of my truck with little problem. If I was looking for a big box that I didn't have to move much, I would look at a Patriot dog box. I have seen them and they are very well built and good looking too.....
