Me and my buddy was talking this mourning how much different we are when it comes to what choke and shell size we use. I just figured that I would get every one elses opinion on what they use. I know it is a long time until most gun seasons, but we are getting cabin fever around here wanting to gun hunt over some pups.

If I use my 410 I use high brass 7 shot If I use anything else it is low brass 7 shot, just because it don't take much to kill a rabbit.

I use a t/c super 16 410 . 3 inch in #6 shot. Dont take too many shots that i know i cannt make.Want the dogs to get as much work as they can. Anyways if you hit em in the head there dead. Even if its with a rock!

I use a a SXS 20ga. double barrel and put an Imp. Cy w/ a low brass #6 in one barrel and in the other barrel I use a mod. choke w/ a high brass #4. My gun has a two trigger set up so I shot which ever barrel make the most sense for my surroundings. If I'm standing on a logging road and can see a long ways, I keep my finger on the mod. #4 barrel. I'm in a spot were visibility is limit, I put my finger on the Imp. Cy #6 barrel.

I shot a rabbit this past season at 72 yards as he crossed a logging road w/ the high brass #4. Usually wouldn't shoot that far, but the dogs had been running the rabbit over an hour and we had unsuccessfully tried and tried to cut the rabbit off.

I agree 72 yrds is forever for a shotgun, but it doesn't take much to drop a rabbit. My cousin was standning beside me on the shot. The rabbit made it across the road, but only went about 10 ft. into the woods. Looked like I only got 3 - 4 pellets in him and #4 is like buckshot for a rabbit.
