watch it nurse and make sure it gets plenty of milk. you could bottle feed as a supplement but as long as it gets plenty of milk i wouldnt worry. i have a runt in my litter also and he is doing fine. make sure you keep them wormed good also, that will help it grow and develope better.

It is really hard to say why it is so much smaller. Maybe it is getting rooted out when it sucks. I have seen this. The big hogs start at the front and move on down rooting the others out of the way. And if the pup is a lazy eater which means that it will suck a little while then rest, it may not be getting enough to eat. You can also get puppy milk replacer and give it a bottle. I find that if they are not getting enough milk then they will take the bottle. But if they are getting enough milk then they will refuse to take the bottle. Also, this pup is probably old enough to eat some soupy puppy chow. Get it to lick it off your fingers and then put it down to a bowl so it can lick it. I have done this with some pups that were not getting enough to eat when they were 2 wks old. They will lap it up if they are hungry. Give it to all the pups and maybe they will sleep more and let the small pup sneak a snack while they are asleep.
Good luck and keep me informed. Odds are if the pup has made it this long, it will have a good chance of making it. Also, you need to worm these pups at 3 wks.
