So sorry to hear that TC. It sounds like you folks and Oakhill are all in mourning down there in Kentucky.

 Dang it, here I go again!!! Tears that can't stop. Rosie was the Queen of the Crewse's household and she loved to be loved. The joy and the pleasure that these little hounds give us is unmeasureable but on the other hand, the grief that we feel when they pass on is also heart wretching. Like all beaglers we wouldn't trade the memories for anything in the world. I can't tell you the number of holes I have dug and know that there will be more if the Lord is willing and each and every time it seems like it is the hardest one to dig.

Rest in peace, Miss Rosie, and know that you will be greatly missed. I know you and Chipper are running those rabbits right now which gives me a smile.

“A LITTLE PRAYER”
by Ray Miller

Lord, it isn’t often, that I pray.
Not, that I don’t know how,
But I seldom have the prayer to say,
Like the one that I have now!
It’s nothing that I ask for me!
It’s for my little beagle hound,
She’d not be any trouble, GEE! A nicer
Dog could not be found.
Won’t you let the gates swing wide,
And let my pal go by?
She deserves to slip inside,
She was so young to die.
It’s no trouble that she’ll make.
She never barks at night.
She will not keep the folks awake,
And I know she’ll never bite!
She’s not the kind who’d pick a fight,
You’ll never have to scold.
She won’t do things that aren’t right.
She just as good as gold!
She only eats once a day,
And she won’t insist on meat,
But if you’ve some to throw away,
She’d accept it as a treat.
So, please, dear God, I pray that you
Won’t leave her ‘neath the ground.
You’ll find that she is fine and true,
And so nice to have around.
You won’t be taking chances, should,
You listen to my plea,
‘Cause if she’s in your way, you could
JUST SEND HER BACK TO ME!!!

I am sorry to hear about your loss and it brings memories of a great hound who has left his mark on me. He has been gone close to a year and everytime I think of him I tear up. I am sorry for your loss but maybe they are running rabbits up in the sky together. They will be missed but know they are in a better place.

Sorry to hear about your loss, I know all to well how hard those holes are to dig. I dug one this past winter, and i think there were more tears in the hole than dirt. Again so sorry.

It must be the season for that TC, my friend back home that I bought a springer spaniel for over 15 years ago called me over the weekend and told me that "my dog" had died. He cut our conversation short cause he didn't want me to hear him cry.

It sure is hard when you lose those special ones. Sorry for your loss.

Awwwww, TC & Sally... I'm sorry to hear about Rosie & Chipper. That poem just about killed me. Makes me wanna go out and hug my biscuit-eaters. They do ask so little yet give their all.

Jackie & Tracy I'm so sorry to hear the bad news. I'm glad that her blood lines will carry on for many years. She will live on in your fond memories, and the younger generations that she produced. God bless you guys!

I never liked digging holes either :!:
