How to dock a dogs tail????

i have a bitch that i am needing to band her tail and i was wondering who sold kits or if there was away to do it with stuff from home...... any help would be appriciated, steps and procedures please??????????

I dock the tails on all the older dogs I keep in my kennel.
I have been using castration bands likt you buy for sheep. The plyers were $15 and the bands can be bought for .05 are something like $4 for a 100.
Works well and fast.and is clean

i have the bands on there tails right now, should i cut them off with the pliers or should i just let them fall off, if you cut them does it bleed bad or do they squall bad??? thanks in advance.. steve

if you got bands on them now leave them because if they have been on there longer than a day the tissue is already dead,,,,,best thing to do on future docking is pull the skin on the tail towards the butt then put the band on above the place your wanting to remove,,,,but make sure you put it between the joints,,,,,,
