How about running into this in the field!
I have a cousin in Germany right now and he is checking to see if he can find a buck and a couple of does to bring back to the states.

There are poeple that breed those in the united states.
I always wanted to turn one loose at one at one of our clubs favorite running spots and listen to the stories.

Can you say, PHOTOSHOP? Loo at it closely, guys. That is a big rabbit, but not as big as the pic makes you think. Like holding a 2 pound bass at arm's length to make it look 6 pounds. Those are big rabbits, and would create some real stories, but if that pic were not altered, the rabbit would be about 50 pounds, roughly the size of the average wallaby, which I always wondered whether or not those little kangaroos would give a beagle his money's worth or not.

Ramey that rabbit's ears are right next to that man's head and it is as long as his head. Now that is not no trick photography there. I know what you mean by holding things far away since I have to do that with all of my fish pictures, however, that rabbit is right up next to his body. So get out the magnum shells and bring on the meat.

On animal planet these rabbits were called the german giants and could grow to 32 inches to the top of the head (not the ear) and weigh in at up to 36 pounds . This may be the perfect answer to our coyote problem , a coyote thats scared of a rabbit

Xdawg2 , I really liked the web site and I guess they are several diffrent breeds . The ones on the page you posted are not half the size of the ones that I seen on tv . I would really like to own either of these rabbits , it would be a great conversation piece .

I seen one of these in person that was white...i had it as a pet when i was younger and had it like 2weeks maybe if that long and gave it away. and then see it a year later and it was HUGE! I was about 11 or 12 i guess and i wouldnt go near it...scared the crap outta me to see a rabbit to be as big as it was...it was probably 2 of my beagles lol...it would be nice to have one to put in my running pen

My cousin in Berlin has located a breeding pair for me for $50.00 US Dollars I'm just working to see how long they will have to be at customs or what not!
The Buck weighs 14lbs so yes they do get big Im just not sure if they will run from the dogs or just turn and kick their ARS ! ! ! LOL
I will keep everyone posted on what I come up with.
