Looks like we are in a winter advisory for most of the day... My area is suppose to get 5-7 inches of snow plus ice. Might be going hunting Saturday, hopefully the county roads won't be to dangerous. Stay off the roads if you can at all costs, suppose to be a heck of a storm.

I know what you mean Patch as they classify us USDA food inspectors as essential employees so we HAVE to get to the plants we regulate. I've gotten there only to have the plant shut down due to not having enough employees of their own to operate that day. We risk life and limb to turn around and travel back home. The only thing that MAY prevent us from having to travel the roads is if a snow emergency is declared by a State, county or municipal authority and the roads are declared closed to non emergency vehicles. Even at that we have to have some sort of proof. It's about like being back in school and getting a note from your parents to miss class. I've got the blade on the tractor and ready to plow my way out in the morning!

Chief, you guys didn't get any of this? I remember living in Indy and getting all worked up about a snow storm only to have to work in the rain for days on end. We got 6" up here yesterday, but it gets deeper the closer you get to lake MI. Its 28 degrees right now, should be some good runnin this weekend. I'll let ya know.

I live down here in Martin County, Indiana. When the storm got close to my area, the big front of it split and headed north and some headed south. We was expecting 3-5 inches and a couple of inches of ice....we didn't get nothing... I hate it when weather people talk about a big storm, then the next morning they apologize cause it really didn't happen the way the saw it.

Greg H, all we got was about an 1" and just a little freezing rain. The roads were clear all day.
