Don't give up hope, she could definitley still turn up, especially if she's wearing a collar with info. We had 2 hounds missing in September that were gone for 10 days before someone called! They were realy skinny and torn up, but they were still running a rabbit when the man found them. The same 2 were missing a year ago for 4 days also (yea, I know, the kennel is now escape-proof)
I would recommend that you put an ad in the paper (this is how we got them back the 1st time and receives many calls) Also check all local animal shelters and leave your # and description of hound in case they get her in. I also hung "lost" signs around the area offering a reward. If you can, you may also want to run dogs in the same spot she was lost from, the sounds of the others running a rabbit may call her in.
I hope you find her!!

A friend of mine lost a small young beagle in the dead of winter, 2 + feet of snow. They went to the area of loss for over a week calling/looking for her and even ran the other dogs there trying to pick her up. They pretty much gave up when 2 weeks after the day she was lost they were driving the dirt logging road right where she went missing and they spotted her running up out of the ditch toward them. So they can last a very long time and with the collars you should have good luck. Is the spot you lost them far from your place or someone you know?

I lost one last year, went out morning, noon and night 4 days in a row with no signs of him so i pretty much gave up. A few days later (7 days after i lost him) i took my pack back out there running and within 45 mins he joined the pack on a race.

If you didn't yet, I would recomend leaving an article of clothing close to where you lost him and also get your other hounds out there as much as possible. Don't give up yet, hounds are tough :D

Best of Luck!

Nor'easter, Lost her on a friends place in manhattan Ind. she know them real well and they are keeping a look out for her. I have been back twice since i lost her. it is about An hour away from home, but I'm working close by. I keep checking with them on a daily basis. the not knowing is the hardest part.

Had a friend that lost one for a month. She had gotten out of the kennel with no collar on. They had given up hope of ever finding her then one day there came a call. She was about 7 miles from home.
Take some advice, buy a tracking system, I won't turn a hound loose without one on, even when running behind the house. It gives me piece of mind knowing that when I decide to call it quits for the day we all go home together. Believe me it will pay for it self over the long run. Gas,worrying, etc. Hope you find her soon.

I hope you find her soon. I had 2 missing for 2 days once--man, those were rough days. The last time, 1 was only gone all day--missed the rest of the trial though :(
