i like how every one has the baddest SOB on the planet. or how hard there hounds hunt, run a rabbit like there glued to it. man i need some new hounds, i wish i had the best gun dog, trial hound, and all around badest sob in the country. but like most i am honest, i will not BS around the truth and tell it as best as i can. u can ask any one who has ever bought a hound from me. i am straight to the point.

i read some of these post and scratch my head, some of these bad mofo have some nasty habbits, but u never here about them, BACK TRACKING, A REAL PAIN IN THE BUT IN THE KENNEL, and cant run a rabbit by it self to save it's own life. and dont have half the hunt they claim. or off game.

or is it today beagler doesnt really know what they are looking at. i pick my hounds apart, looking for what i can add to make it better, not kidding my self on what i have. i like my hounds, if i dont they move on. it's simple. :???: :???: :???:

I bought a dog from a breeder in Kentucky, he said it was the best dog he ever owened but he was going through a divorce and had to have some cash. I took his word, hook line and sinker and did the stupidest thing you can do when buying a fairly expensive dog, I took his word that it was a great rabbit machine. I got burnt like an idiot. There are some guys on here like Plowboy , Bopeye, Plateaubeagler, and jumdog1 that I will take their word on a dog.

When I sell a running hound, I tell the good, bad and ugly about the hound and if they don't like what they hear, then they don't buy the dog from me. I have been as honest as I possibly can about a dog, and so far nobody has ever came back at me being mad.

It don't take much to satisfy some people. 90% of beagles (including mine) need killed.

Dont take my reply in a bad way, there are still men out there that will back up with what he says about a hound, mostly its because they take the dog out a run it. They whatch the dog looking for good and bad traits, and when a buyer comes the seller knows what his dog will do and what it wont do, they simply learn that dog.

A couple weeks back a guy called me about a beagle. I told him what I had and his next question was, "is he a field trial dog?". I said no, and we talked a while longer. He told me he had tried a slow SPO field trial dog from one of the popular breeders in the area. He said it barked from the time he turned it loose until he put it back in the box. I let him try a six months old started pup for two weeks. He came back today to get the papers and seemed impressed about how well the pup hunted and ran a rabbit.
A couple of months ago me and a friend drove three hours to see three young beagles over a year old that were $300. each As soon as we got there the guy came out with his book of pedigrees, all impressive. I told him I would like to see them run and he immediately started making excuses about the lack of rabbits in the area. We took the dogs out and they acted like it was the first time they had ever been in the field. They wouldn't come when called, wouldn't get into the brush and hunt, and showed little interest when another of his hounds started babbling as if she had a rabbit up. If we had taken his word we would have had to take them to the animal shelter. I wonder why folks try to sell trash. Is the few dollars worth more than their reputation.

good read gus, i guess people only care about what they can do for them self's. same goes for the stud guys, if u wont run the hound for me, i wouldnt use him for stud. but if u call them out on it, u are being negative.

It's not just the beagle crowd. Every dog fancy on the planet is like that. Full of folks caught up in a futile attempt to feed their ego thru their dogs. 99% will never be superstars, but all want to believe their dogs are or can be. Not so hard now to see how the bullshit train starts rolling is it?

The ones that i get a kick out of would be the ones that tell of a problem like..not enough hunt for me... then still ask what i consider big prices.lol Maybe he cold trails just a little..little to slow for my pack..how about ..to small..if all these he dont like why would i like the dog. I guess you call this honest but still ask a a@@ pocket full of mony.

It's the interweb.
I am good looking, rich, can beat all you up.
My dog is the best in the world, has no faults, and catces 20 hare a day.
I don't even carry a gun to the woods.

That dog is so good, sometimes I let him drive the truck home from our hunting spot so I can rest.
