Are you sure she isn't? She could be having a silent heat which is where you don't see any outward signs but, they are still in season. Its highly unlikely that a dog would breed a bitch that isn't in season but, sometimes if they have a Vaginal infection they smell enticing to the dog.

I don't know the answer for your question , but like windkist is possible. Also I wouldn't think the bitch would stand , this would be a good 1 for
Doc S if he were still on here.

I have had it happen once and no she didn''t have pups. Mine were kenneled together and I think he pestered the ol girl til she finally give in :D
Then she came in heat 2 months later and I bred them then, and she did take.

They absolutely can! I was going to run hounds one morning and put a female in the box with a male and they stayed tied for 20 minutes or more and she was absolutely not in heat. It was December and she came in heat in April. I have heard it called "rape." Most females won't stand, and I have only seen one that would, but obviously from some of the replies there are more. When I discovered them, I went back in the house for another cup of coffee and documented it ont he calendar. I put the female up for a few days and she showed no signs of heat, nor did she ever show signs of pregnancy, so I bred her when she did actually come in 3 months later.
