Feed Prices

Post by warddog »

OK, folks lets hear what you all are paying for your feed right now. My old dealer went out of business and I just called the new dealer in my area about purchasing a ton of "The Pride" green bag 21/17 Pro Series. I was quoted a price of over a $3.00 per bag increase from the last ton price I bought last Dec. My old dealer has went out of business and this is a new dealer. Either the price has soared ridiculously or the dealer is trying to make more profit per bag.

I have heard Pride was taking a $3 a bag increase. New cotract on ingredients. Fuel is a big part whith all the feeds for shipping. But the government doesn't call it inflation. Hmmmmmmmmm.

all feed and food is going up. We are exporting more wheat to China than we are using. Diesel being $3.39 / gallon and more doesn't help. Corn gluten (if your feed has it) has went up nearly 26% in the last month and a half. Look for these prices to continue to rise as futeres are high. Seed to replant is also going to be up about 20-35% because of demand across the south.

It's all feeds that are going up in price, not just ones with corn. Don't know what it is, maybe all the manufacturers have stopped outsourcing from other countries??? That's a good thing, but the price increase hurts :( My regular feed (Evolve) went up $10 a bag a few weeks ago - from $32 for 40lbs to $42!!!!!!! My backup feed (Timberwolf Organics) skyrocketed and is now upwards of $65 for a 33lb bag :yikes: The bag must be made out of pure gold @@ That's beyond insane.

It's become cheaper for me to buy my own meat @ .69 per lb and just feed them raw & toss them some leftovers ... For me, whats in the bag just isn't worth the $.

feed prices

Post by tiffinis »

I pay $35.00 for a 40lb bag. Up $2 per bag. Every 10 bags I buy I still get a bag free from the company. No corn in mine. I figured when all the recall nightmares happened, that we were going to pay more money, with better guarantees of better product. They are no longer using as many imported products. Fuel prices are going to hit everything and everybody. NObody is going to be immune from that. Everything in my world has gone up in price and everybody in the industries is blaming it on the fuel prices. So do the math.....
better ingredients + higher fuel prices = higher food prices.

We are now paying the Consequences for selecting a president, rather then electing one. The Billionaires in George's country club, won't allow him to lower fuel prices.

Before we get to far off the beat'en path, I pay $17.00 and change, for Diamond High Energy.

I think the democrats in this thread need to go take history 101 or ask to look in their kids history book on how our government works....Read what powers the President has and what power Congress has.

I think more people should be aware how this country runs. What roles the House and Senate plays with the President. I think when people fault the President on a lot of issues, they are forgetting the role of congress.

I remember before the democrats took control, they said they would reduce gas prices........a bunch of gullible voters bought it.

Here it is and they have control, yet the gas prices are higher now than when the republicans had control.

Here is where your history 101 comes into play, now show us how the President is causing higher gas prices? Show us how Congress controls the gas prices?

Ever heard of OPEC? You know what countries make up OPEC? How about Algeria, Angola, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, and Ecuador.

Look worldwide (minus middle east and home to the crude oil) and tell me what gas prices are. Something tells me you will find gas prices high all over the world.......Guess each of those countries Presidents are also responsible for high gas prices, huh? Last I look it was going around $7.50 a gallon in Europe.

You need to use a similar formula on why dog feed prices have risen as to why gas prices have risen.........but for some it's easier to blame the President for high gas prices instead of being informed and educated on broader issues worldwide that is effecting the high gas price.

To give you an example, look at steel commodity prices..........a boom in overseas growth such as in China is driving the prices up.

Well, it looks like my post asking for dog feed prices sparked some debate as to why the $3.00 per bag price increase and has rolled into the political arena. I hate to be the barer of BAD news but the commies as well as anyone and everyone else that hates us are already in YOUR back yard. For several years now the US has put their nose in and sent our military personnel all over the globe fighting others problems and leaving our military defenses at home worn extremely thin. The borders are wide open for anyone to filter through to the point that an American in our country is a minority. They come into this country and build their war machines from the very American economy that they wish to destroy. This is all fine and dandy as long as the rich get richer and the working middle class gets shoved into poverty and has to pay the exorbitant prices for goods that are produced by those willing to work for a paltry wage for longer hours with less workers rights. The only difference in this and slavery that was abolished many years ago is the fact that they are at least getting paid something. In my opinion this is not a distinct political party problem but an American middle class problem where we keep on producing the goods for these corporate giants who in turn rape us by having to pay their exorbitant prices for necessary goods. Don't even give me the same ole crap I hear that it is wages that drives the prices up as I can assure you those employees butchering and producing that hamburger you ate for supper last night didn't get paid over minimum wage for a 10 to 12 hour day they had to put in to even be able to afford that $1.89 per pound ground beef. I say it's time we the backbone of this country, the middle class working stiffs, take it back from the rich corporations monopolizing every industry that are dictating the world economy.

Warddog,
WEEELLLL SAID !! The sole purpose of NAFTA, CAFTA, and all the other "Free Trade" agreements is NOT to raise the standard of living in these third world nations, as was advertised, but rather to drive down the standard of living in this country, and the elimination of the middle class. Thirty years ago I would have laughed at such a thought, Today I firmly belive it.

Buckshot,
You seem to be a knowledgeable person, perhaps you can help me with something? My time frame my not be exactly accurate, the prices are. I belive back in the Spring oil hit an all time high of $84.00/barrel. Gasoline at the pump rose to $3.09/gal. Then dropped some weeks later to the 2.50-2.60 range, where it stayed pretty steady . About three weeks ago oil again hit a new record high of $97.00/barrel, and again gas at the pump went to the same 3.09/gal. My question is, which one was the rip off , the 3.09 for $84.00/barrel oil or the 3.09/gal, for $97.00/barrel oil?

Buckshot, while you at it..........Can you tell me why we spend billions of dollars to kick someones butt, if we are gonna let them keep the darn oil and make the rules?? We have paid for that black oil in red blood!

Isnt it high time America plays for keep???

Iraq took Kuwait, we took Kuwait from Iraq...Kuwait should be OURS!

We took Iraq........Iraq should be ours!

We whipped Japan.........it should be ours!!

Suadi Arabians blew up our buildings......Saudi Arabia should be OURS!

Instead we spent all that money, to let them dictate oil prices and sell American saps Jap cars..........go figure!
