In my opinion I wouldn't buy one, for one it is a fad dog, if you purchase a fad dog then you just promote some fad breeders fat pocket into producing more fad dogs. We as pure breed dog breeders, owners feel it is wrong in every sence of the word to make these crosses and try to promote them other then what they are Mut.
I don't understand some folks way of thinking many say that a beaga-poo is non alergenic type dog (Their Sales Pitch) to the folks that have dog hair allergies HELLO them dogs have hair too. So now this ones attribute is easy to train, smart gets over its energetic stage after the puppy months. Well don't most dogs? Don't most dogs with a brain train if you work with them... Good Line of BS though.. Maybe we should all take lessons on how to write an add about purebreds...

Correct me if Im wrong, but isn't that how most of the breeds we have today come about? Im not ready to change from using beagles, but if someone wants to put the effort into creating something better, Ill consider it. The only way these breeders will be successful is if they create a superior breed.

Not sure if the only way for the breeder of these mutts to be successful is to create a superior breed. More popular isn't necessarily "superior" to me any type of a hound is a hunting dog and I don't see where mixing a beagle with a jack russel is going to create a superior dog, to me it's just another accidental mutt breeding.

If I was sure they would be superior, I would be more concerned with trying some. Im not convinced they will be. If breeders keep inbreeding beagles like they are we might need some mix like that to clean the mutant ninja beagles up!
Would like to see one of these mix dogs go! Would be concerned about voice/nose in cold temps/off game like ground hogs, squirrels, etc.
Do think they might add brains and trainability.

Knock yer self out Dave, it is just like the puggles craz, the beaga poo craz and the labradoodle.... Like I said you can go to the pound and find yerself a purbred mut if ya are so inclined to.
Breeding purebreds is a struggle no matter what breed you are looking at, but I will not cross my dogs with another breed just to run the flavor of the month club. But go ahead what ever floats yer boat. Just don't expect all the breeders on here to give you the blessings of messing up a pure breed and tell ya that is the way to go!

TC, 25 years ago my grand father crossed a jack and a beagle. ever one of those pups were rabbit crazy. if a rabbit went in a hole ole jack would go in and get it.funny i have seen alot of pure breed beagles who wernt worth the powder to blow there brains out with. people can cross what ever they want, if it makes them happy good for them.

Like I said knock yer self out do what ya wanna do, just don't expect the pure bred breeders to condone this. It is not something that we strive for. There is good and bad in every breed just don't mean you have to out cross into another breed to get what you are needing in your kennel. Look at your dogs your kennel and be honest with yourself when making breedings to get where you want to go. If you got culls then it is your own fault...

To each his own. No one is forcing anyone to buy these hybrid dogs.
Hunters have been mixing beagles and bird dogs for years to get a certain type hound that suits them.
Them jackabeas sure are ugly though!

I'd like to find the genius that paid $500 for one of those (read all the testimonials on the link), I have 34 acres of prime farmland behind my house sitting at about a 60 degree angle, all he has to do is move the cliffs out of the way! If someone wants to breed a beagle to a Jack Russell, that's his business. I don't think they should try to create a new breed of dog, there are plenty already. I agree that they sure aren't as good looking as a Jack Russell purebred, and are a LOOOOOONG way from as good looking as a beagle, for sure. Any takers on the farmland?

Amen , I have not seen anywhere in this post that ask anyone to make this cross , and if you don't think that your beagles have a mutt somewhere in their 200 years of blood line your crazy .
When I was younger I had beagles that were crossed with every dog that walk the street and most were good rabbit dogs . I also know where a jack beagle cross is that is a rabbit demon and I am sure that the guy would be more than happy to put it on the ground with anyone's
PUREBREED beagles .... Most people make crosses for their preferrence not as a fade.
