With every new dog I have the theory.... 2 cant be any worse then 1... I now own 5, 2 of which are Labs, in the house. With a litter of pups on the way.
Go for it, most things do better in pairs.

If your the one who will be taking care of it, what's the problem? Now if your wife feeds and cleans your kennels thats a whole different ballgame. The only time my wife will tend my dogs if I'm sick or away from home for a few days. I'll be dam if I would ever ask permission from my wife to have another dog. She's not my mother.
