I RECIEVED SOME BAD NEWS THIS MORNING FROM A VERY SHAKIN AND DISTRAUGHT KEVIN MONROE........AT 9:30 A.M.,MIKE FAULKNER,THE GUY WHO HAS BEEN RUNNIN DOGS FOR KEVIN,WAS SOLOING REGGIE IN THE BOWL AREA OF BELLEVILLE MINES WHEN HE SAW A LARGE COYOTE CROSS THE ROAD AND MAKE A B-LINE STRAIGHT FOR REGGIE.....MIKE RAN TOWARDS THE COYOTE SCREAMING AND YELLING,BUT THE COYOTE PAID NO ATTENTION AND ATTACKED REGGIE AND STARTED EATING HIM UP,THE FINALLY MIKE GOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO GET THE COYOTE OFF HIM,HE POCKED REGGIE UP,THEY GOT REGGIE TO THE VET,HIS REAR END AND BACK LEGS ARE IN PRETTY BAD SHAPE AND HE CANT PUT NO WIEGHT ON THEM AT THIS TIME,HE IS ALIVE BUT ON I.V.'S.I SUGGESTED TO KEVIN THAT THE VET SHOULD DRAW SEMEN IF POSSIBLE JUST IN CASE,THE VET SAYS HE SHOULD MAKE IT,I HOPE AND PRAY HE DOES.

WHEN I HEARD THIS,I ALMOST PUKED,IT TORE ME UP AND IT IS NOT MY DOG,ITS JUST THAT I SEE THE TIME AND WORK KEVIN PUT IN HIM AND I KNOW WHAT HE MEANS TO KEVIN,I COULD TELL BY TALKIN TO HIM,HE IS WORRIED AND WHO WOULDN'T BE,SO,SAY A LIL PRAYER FOR REGGIE,LOVE HIM OR HATE HIM,WE AS HOUNDSMEN AND BEAGLERS NOW THAT THIS IS ONE OF TH GREATS,AND WE AS HOUNDSMEN WOULD ALL SUFFER A LOSS IF ANYTHING WOULD HAPPEN,SO PLEASE,SAY A LIL PRAYER TO THE BEAGLE GODS TO HELP REGGIE PULL THROUGH THIS AND TO HELP KEVIN,I COULD AMAGINE WHAT HE FEELS RIGHT NOW,IMAGINE YOUR FAVORITE DOG HAVIN SOMETHIN LIKE THIS HAPPEN.

I really hate to hear that....there is no denying what Reggie is..can't imagine how Kevin is feeling right now.

My prayers are with them..

That absolutely sucks. I'll keep Kevin and Reggie in my thoughts and prayers. Hope everything works out OK. Looks like I am definitely going to take up yote hunting.

Wow that is so freakin bold of the yote. Before you run hounds in that bowl you better think about shooting that yote.I see cats all the over but u turn a hound down and its almost like a canine thing the yotes show up to hunt the hounds. Hope Reggie gets well

REGGIE WAS ATTACKED BY A COYOTE THIS MORNING.HE IS DOING FINE HIS REAR LEG IS SCRAPED UP AND HAS A FEW PUNCTURES IN HIS REAR FLANK.REGGIE WAS HIT AT FULL SPEED BY THE COYOTE THEREORE HIS BODY IS BRUISED AND HE IS SORE BUT EXPECTED TO RECOVER FULLY.THANKS FOR THE PHONE CALLS BUT HE IS DOING FINE.THANKS FOR EVERYBODIES CONCERN.KEVIN MONROE ,A SPECIAL THANKS TO MIKE FAULKNER FOR SAVING HIS LIFE.

Kevin hate to hear that about Reggie, hope he makes a full recovery. Keep us posted on how hes doin.

Man hate to hear this. When Reggie pulls through this I would definitely look into the draw some straws from him.

THANKS to Mike Faulkner!!!!!!!!!!!! It's nice to know there are people out there who care as much about other peoples dogs as they do their own and are willing to do what they can to help a fellow beagler.

THANK GOD HE IS GONNA BE OK,YEAH,THAT MIKE FAULKNER IS A CLASS ACT,A HECK OF A GUY.HE WOULD HAVE FAUGHT THAT YOTE BARE HANDED TO GET HIM OFF IF NEED BE,IF HE HADN'T BEEN RIGHT ON TOP OF IT,IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BAD,

hate to hear bout reggie n the yote FELLOWS what are we gonna do about these yotes they are getting worse all the time wont be long n we will hear about a lil child being carried off by these yotes seems like the states dont care one way or the other jb

I'd say you guys that run that area ought to put aside some days of yote banging. If this one was bold enough to run right into Reggie he WILL do it again. They tell me that dogs and yotes are natural enemies although there are some that cross up. I know around here at one time guys were baiting their yote traps with dogs and there weren't many strays walking around. I guess the bunch finally got caught and that ring got busted.
