Constipated dog

One of my dogs had loose and runny stool for about a week, so on the advice of a friend I took her off her regular dog food and started feeding her plain white rice with a little chopped chicken in it, to help her settle down her stomach. Know she hasn't pooped in about two days. Is this just the result of the binding action of the white rice or should I be worried?

I wouldn't worry too much. She'll go when she has to go. You could try some canned pumpkin (not the spiced stuff) about a tablespoon in her food. its good for fiber.

make sure it says 100% pumpkin on it and it's not the pie filling! I've heard of people doing that before! When I first got my dog Jake- he didn't poop for a week! I thought what's wrong with this dog, and he has about every day sense then so he's fine. I'd give it one or two more days before you do anything drastic (laxatives, lol).

She pooped today! Not much, but a nice little turd. Anyway some of your advice are the funniest things I've ever heard. I will save it and use it the next time I have a dog that can't go.....DH
