Buddy I am new to this blood line and only have 2 dogs with northway in them.I had seen several dogs with this bloodline that really impressed me and could not believe the die hard hunt that they had.Last year I decided to try some for my self and have already breed those dogs to get more of the hunt and desire in my kennel. They are hard hunting dogs and have a really good nose.
Just my experience , I am sure they are people that have had other good and bad experiences with this line.

my Old Rocky dog is out of the old school northway stuff.. Love the hunt and the heart. He would die running a rabbit.

My heavy Northway male has HUNT and GRIT. Good jump dog as well. Got a guy runnin' him for me right now and says he is lookin' better all the time. Another thing I think he has to offer is great conformation as well. L.P. told me to keep the crosses I make on him a secret too.

Hunt, Grit, Heart, ALL DAY dogs with enough foot to pressure the rabbit just right. Like Chad said they are built right too. But what has impressed me more than anything is the way they use their mouth. Some might be a little tight with it at first, but let them get some blood in their mouth and they will start singing. The ones that I have or had don't open until they are locked on, and then its chop chop chop chop chop squeel chop chop............

Pure and simple GRIT. Had a sdouble driver male with liver cancer. 3 weeks before I had him put down took him for his last run. Was in a whole lot worst shape than the dog Thornie has pictured on here. Would not QUIT. Still hunted and ran like he did when he was healthy. He had lost almost 2/3's of his body weight. STILL would not QUIT. Just sorry he did not pass away doing what he loved running a rabbit.

I really like the hunt mine has.......I have never seen a mouthy Northway hound and they know how to find the bunnies..I would like to mention that these hounds have brains too, they always seem to adjust to the conditions to account for their game and not get over-competitive.

Does anyone know of any Northway dogs near South Carolina? A friend of mine is interested in some. Are they normally 15 in class? He prefers smaller dogs. Any info is appreciated.
