Surprised!!!

Got off from work yesterday. In a rush, took my wifes car to the tire shop to get a flat fixed, went to the bank then to the kennels to clean-up and feed. I was in a rush so I could get home in time to see Vince and the Titans beat-up on the Saints. To my surprise there lies LPRC Bayou City Red Pebbles in her house. Dead as a door knob. I ran her Saturday and she was fine. Sunday I ran another set of dogs and she ate good and was ok. Pebbles was one of those dogs that never had to be broke off of deer, she handled like a dream, and was a pretty good hound. It took me by total surprise, because for one she was healthy, and only3 yrs. old. I guess its a message that says you never know. Whether you're a dog or human. When the man calls he calls and there ain't nothing you can do about it. Chris

Hate to hear that, it's tough when you loose an old dog that you have enjoyed having but really tough to loose a young one, kinda sets you back.

I had the same experience this weekend for the first time ever.

My guess in my situation was stroke or heart attack as we like dogs

with speed.

Chris,
Sorry to hear about your loss. I am sure she was a good one as many from that line are.

When I lost Stump's Ky. Mtn. Dixie, the female I had that would break pups off deer, the vet said if she was on heartwormer then it had to be a shutdown in the head.....anurrism?

She was 4-5 yrs. and very healthy also. Ran great the day before with pups and was laying in the water bowl when I got home from work.

Ya'll are absolutely right........"The good die young". But the go to a much better place!
Sorry again Chris,
Your friend,

I want to thank everyone for their concern with my loss. I guess the best way to take the situation is to forget about it and drive on. My attitude is there will be others just as good or better. The only thing I can figure out or guess is the fact that after a run for about 1-1 1/2 hrs. the dogs made a loss and we called the dogs in to give them some water and she didn't come in with the other dogs. We thought she might have caught the rabbit. When she came in I could tell she hadn't eaten a rabbit because she didn't have a swollen belly. That is the only time that she was seperated from the other dogs, so she might have gotten into something she shouldn't have. Other than that I have no idea what could have happened. Brad, that is indeed the same dog you ran with before the World. I appreciate the compliment you gave her saying that she was great, but when you have more than 20 dogs the chances are good that she will be replaced. Again thanks to everyone. Chris
