Has anyone bought reconditioned tri-tronics from them??
have you had good succes with reconditioned collars compared to new collars?
I have a two dog multi sport,I got from collar clinic,so far so good, had them three months, hoping my luck stays the same after the warranty is out dated.
anyone have problems with close range mishaps? due to dense brush or a hill??

Me and one of my hunting buddies have both sent collars to them to be reconditioned and was very well pleased with the product and the customer service.

I purchashed my first tri-tronics system recon from them and one of the collars did'nt have the distance of the other two I made one call and they quickly sent me a shipping tag to return my order and then overnighted me a more expensive set for the same price.imo a great company

I'm not sure if its just me or not, but mine seem like they dont work as good in the field, compared to when I do a test w/o the dogs wearing them.I can do a test by taking them out in the yard and walking away from them and have someone stand and yell at me telling me if the tone is working.maybe its just in my head but in thick brush from a short distance they only seem to work when the dog just happens to be standing in the right position, facing me or something.the multi sports are supposed to have 1/2 mile range.
maybe I should call collar clinic and ask if this is normal?? anyone have the multi sport??

I had bad luck with the multi sports. They were working good in the yard, but the range in the field was poor. I traded up to the trashbreaker and have been very happy with the performance. When working with young dogs I like to give them the benefit of the doubt. By the time the tattle tales came back it was too late. I bought my 4 dog g2 trash breaker 2 years ago used from the collar clinic. It could not have too old as the g2 had just come out.
It has been a really good system and the range is more than adequate. If you can hear the dog he can be corrected.

Ryan, ALL e-collar units are like that. When they say 1/2 mile or 2 miles or whatever, that is under ideal conditions meaning "line of sight". As soon as you add cover or hilly terrain your range drops off in proportion to just how hilly or thick, etc, etc the cover is. I've got a 2 dog Tritronics multi sport and of course in thick stuff it won't get near the rated 1/2 mile range. Likewise the 4 dog Dogtra unit I have is the same, not even close to the mile rated range in the woods. In fact it probably needs reconditioning cause I'm only getting a third to half of what it should get .....line of sight.
