hickory hills kennels is or was owned by merle crain. he used to be big time in the little pack division. i havent seen any ads by him in a long time, i wonder if he still has beagles? his beagles usually went by crains hh and then the name of the dog. example, a little pack grand champ he had went by the name of crains hh booger red. again i dont know if he still has beagles, also his dogs were not akc registered. something about him getting into it with a akc rep.

I booked a dog off of merle around 8 yrs ago.It was shipped to me by a
independent hauler.I told merle I wanted a little pack style dog with a speed of about 7-8.When I took the dog out the first time it jumped a rabbit moved the line about 20 yards in 15 min.I ran the dog 5 times and had the same results.I have seen brace dogs move faster.
I tried to contact merle for days with no reply, left messages andstill no reply.I finally called every morning 9 times to fill his answering machine.
I finally talked to him and he said he would bring me another dog.To make a long story short he did bring me another dog , i met him at night
abd thought it was a black blanket dog.The next morning after a flea bath it was a open marked dog.Thid dog backtracked as good as going forward.
Im omly a sucker once.

I have owned and still own dogs directly from Merle's 1990 World Ch Dusty and 91 Ch Booger Red. I've gun hunted and trialed these dogs for years with lots of success. They're fast, competitive, front end dogs. True Little Pack dogs. Somewhere down the road Merle dropped the ball. Making money was more important than breeding quality dogs. That's when we parted ways. However, I still have the original lines and still hunt them. I'll always have some of the "Old Blood" in my kennel.

And no they are not akc registered, arha/nkc only.
