REAL GOOD RUNNIN THIS MORNING , DOGS RAN THE COTTON OFF 1 FOR ABOUT 35 MINUTES AND HAD 2 SHORTER RUNS.

EYES ARE BLOODY SHOULD THEY BE FLUSHED OUT OR WHAT. HAV'NT SEEN THIS BEFORE

Mineral oil poured right in the ieyes if they have debris like seeds and dry stems that are becoming more prevalent this time of year, I'm sure that others have better remedies.

Id get it checked out, even if there is nothing wrong with your baby, as least your mind will be at ease.

Let us know how things go, whether it clears up or if you take him/her to the vets

You definitely want to flush out the eyes ... I've been using something called PetSolution RX which is antibacterial spray that will flush out any debris from the eyes while preventing infection.

Bloody? Or just very irritated? If bloody, I would go straight to the nearest vet. If just irritated, I rinse with saline solution then add terramycin ointment. That's what I would do.

What they said, if the eyes are bloodshot, it's just allergies, rinse w/ a good saline solution.

I had to take one to the vet last month because of grass seeds in his eyes. His eyes were swollen and weepy for about three days. I couldnt see anything in them but they werent getting better . When I went to the vet she pulled a grass seed out within minutes. His eyes were better within days. The ceresus grass around here (Boonville) is awful about it. Sometimes they just get scratched up but if they dont get better in a couple days theres a good chance there is something in it.

I USED SOME EYE WASH YESTERDAY IT WAS ACTUAL BLOOD AROUND EYES AND SOME SWELLING BY LAST EVENING ALL WAS GOOD. MUST HAVE BEEN THOSE LITTLE SEEDS RAN THIS MORNING IN A DIFFRENT FEILD AND HAD NO PROBLEMS. THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT

terramycin ointment is a must for Beaglers. After Flushing this ointment will heal their eyes from all the seeds,briars, scratches etc...It is very inexpensive and actually prevented one of my buddies dogs from going blind as his dog actually had a scab form over his eye. If my dogs eyes look red or appear watery or irritated I put some in each eye and then next morning they are usually crystal clear and it relieves the pain like a soothing agent.

I have a male that bleeds from the eyes.He only does this when running in the heat.If If I dont cool him off right away he will go down with dehydration.If its a cool morning this will not happen so I dont think it is the seeds. This is just my opinion,but I believe it is only related to the heat.

I have some thick grass by my place that gets the dogs blodied up around their eyes this time of year. It's not the eye but the eyelids that get that way. If you feel this grass it is real rough and sticky feeling. It takes the hair off around their eyes also.

Also have a couple dogs that, when I run them at night, their eyes are full of gunk and stuck shut in the morning and need to be washed out a few times to get back to normal. These are hard going dogs that don't slow down for the brush. I'm not sure if it is from running into stuff or just from pollen or something. It seems to happen any time of year, but only when I run them at night.
