What type boots do people wear in spring, summer and in early season? Reason asking is I am a die hard Rubber boot guy but I have a nice pair of leather hunting boots that i like to wear but with the heavy due this time of year I don't wear them much. I can't stand wet feet period! I was looking in Cabela's/Bass Pro catalogs and notice that they sell a waterproof sock, has anyone ever tried these socks and if so what did you think about them. Thanks for any info. Tom Gross

I like to wear tennis shoes or cheap Timberland knock offs. They are comfortable and alright as long as you are not in water. Otherwise, I like my Rockys.

I go for the Rocky's myself. If I am hunting a higher dry area in summer I might wear a pair of tennis Shoes out

You can get a pair of Goretex liners to wear in lighter weight shoes, they are little warm in summer but stay dry, even in Tennis Shoes.

I got a pair of Rockeys that are 7 years old and have worn the heck out of them without a leak. They are just have too much insulation for summer wear.
ANYWAY, ROCKY MOVED PRODUCTION OVERSEAS. My last 2 pair of Rocky boots have not lasted 9 months before leaking. I’ve heard this from a lot of my friends. Rocky boot ain’t what they used to be. Wish I could find a really good pair that would last more than a couple years and not leak. I’ll probably get a pair of Filsons, but I hate to spend that much on a pair of boots.

My last two pairs of Rocky's leaked within a few months. Every year the price seems to go up and the quality goes down. I've been wearing some leather Georgia boots for quite a while now, and I have no complaints. I wear them to work and when I'm hunting, year round. They feel comfortable right out of the box and my feet are DRY.

I wear boots year round or go barefooted! When hunting I am in old ropers or my duck boots if real muddy. The rest of the time I am in Justin pull-on workboots, unless doing sme physcal activity such has playing golf or tennis etc... ;)

Muck Boot Co. make a good rubber boot, insulated, and comfortable. However, they also make a Muck rubber, low cut shoe, we call them "rubbers", these are comfotable and are not so hot this time of year. Good for early AM or on rainy days.

I wear the 16 inch snake proof uninsulated boot made by redhead in the late spring summer and early fall. It is a relatively comfortable boot, and it doesn't leak, It provides adequate protection against Mr No Shoulders during the hot months when it is too hot to wear chaps or hunting pants. They are on sale in the REd Head catalog I got today for 99.00.

I got some Danner boots I like pretty good but I wear my wick froglegs more than anything cause in the warmer weather I can wear shorts and keep them folded down and stay relatively cool or pull them up to go through the brush. I wear them while running my beables in the morning as well as my coonhounds at night. They just seem more comfortable but thats just me.

The gortex socks are worth the price. I ordered the 11" insulated ones. I wore them with leaky boots and had dry feet and have worn them with tennis shoes while judging and have gone thru some deep puddles with never a drop. They gaurentee them not too leak for 5 yrs and i haven't had them leak yet . Let's see a boot company give that!! :D Happy that i spent the money
