On Sept 2nd (laber day weekend) The Holmes Conservation & Beagle Club in Holmesville Oh. along with the St. Louisville beagle club and help from other area clubs will be hosting the 2007 All American Youth Hunt, This event is open to ANY yougster age 15 and under, With "Lil Tykes" casts for ages 6 and under. It will be ran UKC hound and hunter elimination style format (except for NO ONE gets scratched) Trophies will be given for the top 10 as well as overall and runnerup winner, we will also have a bench show judged on showmanship ONLY for best boy and best girl in 3 age groups. Last year this event pulled in 37 youngsters, and with donations from clubs, Kennels, and business' collected a whooping $1400 PLUS, with 2 full pages in the American Beagler for results. Money is used for trophies, food and door prizes for everyone, NO kid leaves empty handed. I'm also starting out the donations with $25 from Gotta Go Kennels and challenge anyone to match me I've gotten several matches from Sundown, Hurry up, Crewse in Beagles and many more promised. IF you've never been to the HCBC make plans to attend, We are a family oriented club with plenty of camping space and FISHING ponds, So bring your kids, dogs, tents and fishing poles for a weekend of FUN, Family and BEAGLES. NO , this hunt is not UKC licensed so if it looks like a beagle and can run a bunny......Bring it.

UPDATE.......hunt will be held Sunday Sept 2nd 8:00am, ages 16 and under (I wrote 15 on original post) UKC hound and hunter format elimination style, Lil Tykes casts for 6 and under, all the rest is random draw, parents are asked to go with the child and may "HELP"..... last year I went with my 4 yr old and when his dog barked I just ask him who's dog is that and he struck him like an "ol Pro", Trophies for top 10, door prizes for all, there will also be a SHOWMANSHIP ONLY bench show which all kids must enter to be eligable for the TOTAL DOG & oppisite sex trophies (around 5 ft tall) EVERYTHING is FREE thanks to area clubs and kennel donations food and drink will be provided, also anyone that would like to come out saturday and campout and fish you are more than welcome I will have a bonfire with hotdogs and marshmellows for those who want them.Plus the clubhouse will be open incase of rain.
