I had to worm two of my dogs last night. Yesterday morning when I went out to scoop some poop I noticed white worms in their stool. So later that day I went out to the kennel to worm them. I don't know which dog has the worms so I have to worm both of them. My male dog was very easy to worm. I just opened his mouth and dumped the liquid NEMIX II right in his mouth. Piece of cake. Here was the Challenge my Female. I tried and tried over and over again She did not want anything to do with it. I tried opening her mouth but I couldn't. She kept shaking her head away every time I tried. Then I was talking to her tying to not make things nervous for her but NOOOO she didn't want to take it. I didn't know what to do. So then I said FOOD that's what I will do. I went in the house looking around and the Wonder Bread (wheat) caught my eye. That's it I will pour it on the bread and then she will eat it. Guess what she fell for it. I pour it on the bread and she gobbled it right up. HAHA I had to fool her but I did it.
Tip
So if you have trouble like I did pour your liquid wormer on some bread and they will eat it.

What did the worms look like. I noticed you said you used Nemex 2. Ok if they were hooks, but wont work for you if they were tapes.

Well they where white thin and about 1in long. Kinda of stringy looking.
I really don't know what round or hook worms or even tape worm's look like.
Are there picture's out there.

It would be rounds. tapes look like little segments of rice. The actual tape worm is flat not round.

Funny you should bring that up........because that is exactly what I tried to do.
My male I used the 5ml spoon. 3 spoon fulls for 30 lbs dog. Right into his mouth it went. He even opened his mouth for me.
My female........I tried the spoon first and I spilled it. She didn't want to open her mouth what so ever. I was afraid if I force her she was going to bite or something.
Then I said HUH I will stick a the syringe in her mouth and squirt it in. But no I could not do it. Ever time I went to put it in the crack of her mouth she would turn her head away. I couldn't even hold her head straight. Noone was there to help out either. Even if their was another person I doubt we could have done it. It was impossible.

I grab them by the muzzle and push their upper lips into their mouth that way if they do bite down they are biting their own lips and will open right back up.

Just place your hand over their muzzle and take the syringe and place it in the corner of their mouth all the way back in the little pocket at the bottom of the jaw and squirt, be sure to hold their muzzle while you do this and massage their throat a couple of seconds afterwards. They can't bite you if your holding their muzzle.
