Yes my male beagle got it even though he had the vaccine for it! It took a while to completely get rid of! He gets the bordetalla because I send him to a kennel if i'm out of town and its required. I don't know if it's multiple strains of that or not (no idea how that works)
Now i'm afraid my girl beagle has it shes been coughing all night..
All they did was give my male dog antibotics and it didnt seem to work til his last couple days on it.
yep

Yep,
Brought it back from Ironton two weeks ago.
Every dog I own has had it, and two are still getting over it.
Some dogs shook it in about 3 to 4 days.
The house dog took about 10 days.
We were at the trial on a Saturday.
I noticed my dog coughing Monday evening.
Went to my buddy's house and heard one of his hacking.
I knew then we had it and ever dog we own was probably going to get it.

Yep, a buddy of mine here in VA got it also. Said he got it from running w/ someone who's dogs had it and should have known. It's def. going around now, especially w/ trialing season in full swing.

Yep count me in to. All of my dogs and my dads dogs have had it and so has a friend of mines. We were at that Ironton hunt also so I'm guessing that is where we got it from to. Started right after the hunt just like Silverzuk.

man this kennel cough sucks,i have to sit out of the ohio state hunt over this s#@t cause i have enough sense not to take a sick hound to a trial and expose other beaglers kennels to it,just wish others would have done the same, maybe i would not have it now.i just can't see why anyone would take a sick hound to a trial, they aint no trophy or points worth that much

For the last 4+ years I've giving Progard KC as a vaccination to prevent kennel cough. The key is to vaccinate after the pup is 12 weeks old. My dogs come in contact frequently with infected dogs at trials, and my kennel has never been affected since I've been vaccinating with the bellow vaccine.

It's a cheap vaccine, so there is no reason to be a tightwad. Vaccinate against it! If anyone has further questions they're welcome to call me.

My dog was vaccinated against it and still got it. There must be many strains.
