Just wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to the victims of the senseless shootings at Virginia Tech today, thoughts to families and friends as well. With over 30 people killed and 26 injured, this was the largest mass shooting in U.S. history and a horrible tragedy.

Prayers for them all. Surely this will touch us all. Much as the shooting at the Amish school here in PA did last year. It is a frightening thing

I'm a Tech grad myself and know the specific area where the shootings took place very well. I graduated in '98 but still have many colleagues within the faculty and know several students currently attending. This was a very senseless act and my thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. This is the second shooting incident the Tech campus has experienced just this school year.

Right up the road....
I have always hung out there ever since I was a teenager... so sad..
Used to be these ol mountains protected us from such outside madness ... and now the madness stems from with in...
May our prayers be with those passed and those who must return to school and "deal" with this tragedy!

The Madness came from an outsider. He wasnt a Mtn boy for sure.
This is a sad time in all of America, not just VA.

It's almost surreal. We have an Islander attending as an exchange student. The world has certainly changed. God Bless them and their families to get them through this awful tragedy.

there is not a thing that could make those parents gut wrenching pain go away. We have to have a real conversation in this country about conceled carry in schools. While the libs try to take away our gun rights we are becoming more victims. If someone in that class had a ccw ? who knows how things would have turned out. Lets ask some of the victims parents if they wish there son or daughter was carrying. The criminals will always have weapons. The innocent are the ones being denied the right to protect themselves. May they find themselves with the grace of the LORD.

First off.....my thoughts and prayers to them all, what a sad thing.
Now on to your statement.....I agree! I have said for years we should make self defense/firearms training a class ALL students must take in high school. We have to just face the music, criminals will always have weapons and use them to hurt good people....if the anti gun people had any sense they would understand the easiest way to manage crime is to instill in EVERYONE the knowledge to protect themselves.
They may be the first or second or third to die in a shooting rampage....but they wouldnt be the 30th!
Very sorry for all the families.
