she may be allergic to something in that kennel have you tried to move her to adifferent place if the only place she does it is in there i'd suspect the kennel. dogs have different allergies just like people do. if moving her doesnt help i'd take her to the vet

Could she be chewing on wood or eating bedding inside the kennel ?
I was told that "Kennel cough" is going around bad . It's airborn and some dogs are immune . I don't know much about it and think it should affect your dog more when running but it wouldn't hurt to check it out .

It is more than likely kennel cough. you said in a previous post you run 3 times a week is some of that in a running pen? This is a bad time of year for it. Running pens are were I always seem to get it.

Well if this was my dog and he was hacking up flem I would get him on 250 mg fish mox twice a day. Sounds to me he has a secondary infection going on with the hacking up stuff. To give him some temporary relief I would also give him 3cc of robitussin DM to relieve the chest congestion and give his throat a break.

How recently has this dog been wormed? A dull coat is a sign of worms. We feed exceed and proplan and our coats are very shiney. KC is going around and I concur with the 250 amoxi twice a day for 7 days. If that doesn't help I'd have her to the vet right away.

good luck,

Leah

Sounds like kennel cough.
We went to run last night and a guy's dog was coughing the real horse cough that is indicative of Kennel Cough.

We ended up not running, because we had to doctor all of my dogs and his as a preventative measure. We gave all dogs the kennel cough vaccine, two dogs that been coughing a shot of pennicillin.

You need to get that taking care of.
Kennel cough is the dog flu. All the dogs in your kennel, or that has been exposed to your dog have been exposed to the virus.

Google search "kennel cough" and there are some good articles that describe what you are talking about.

Sounds like she's just coughing. Only once an hr. doesn't sound like KC to me, but I'm no expert. The dogs I've seen/had w/ KC were coughing every 5 min. or so and it's a real dry cough. Give her a little Robitussen Cough like mentioned and let it take it's course.

As for the dull coat, put a tablespoon of veg. oil in each food bowl when you feed them. I mix my feed in a big feed pail and pour in a little then add water and mix it around.

Kennel Cough has a very dry hacking sound and is usually followed by a lot of phlem being brought up. They cough until they can't cough no more not just once an hour. Also, some heart problems will cause coughing. I think that she should see a vet.

Kennel cough has a distinct sound like they have something caught in there throat.
I am doctoring two dog right now with KC.
It started out with one coming out of the box and "hacking".
He was fine after that. He would occasionally hack in the kennel, but not often.
I went to another guys house and heard one of his coughing quite a bit.
The light bulb clicked on that he had kennel cough and my dog probably did too.
Now my house dog has it, he is hacking quite a bit.

It is that time of year for it to go around.

Also, check her lymph nodes.
If she is sick you should feel two knots behind her jaw lower than her ear.
If you can feel them, she is sick.
If they are larger than a bean, she needs to be put on antibiotic immediately.

You won't easily feel the lymph nodes on a healthy dog.
They get swollen when fighting infection.

If your dog has kennel cough one way you can check is to manipulate the trachea. Kind of rub and squeeze her throat in the area of her vocal cords. That will usually cause a bout of coughing. Don't choke her, just kind of rub and squeeze.
Lots of others things can cause coughing, worms, allergies, cedar chips in her box ,may have something caught in her throat, like a splinnter, but one of the most serious is heart worms. Good luck.
