re
My buddy has three litter mate sisters out of jasper that are as tough as I've seen. My question is why dont you hear more about pups out of him? After he won the world, he was bred a lot, and I have seen very little placing out of those breedings. There are three or four, but thats not a good percentage.
Might talk to Jim McGuire.
He has a Grand called Logan Elm Blue Rocky.
Rocky had a lot of offspring get through the first round at the world.
That speaks a lot for consistency of what he is throwing.
I don't anything about KY Reggie, but have seen a lot of turbo dogs run.
The ones I have seen have a lot of hunt, grit, good speed on a track, and can take a rabbit and go. It is amazing all the traits Turbo has thrown in his pups.

jasper
I have a female out of jasper and roughshod angel about 1 1/2 years old makeing a super nice hound clean and fast with a chop mouth excellent hunt I have not trialed her yet but she could do good right now in trials I dont put one in a trial untill they are a little older she gives 100% every time on the ground. I also ran against a pup from reggie at the world in the 2nd round that was a pretty nice hound he was fast ran good track had a good mouth had good hunt I think eather one of these dogs would be a good choce you should go run with each one and see which one matches up to your female the best.

jasper
i got a buddy thats has a dog out of jasper, hes the fastest ive ever seen.
he made it to the last 50 or so dogs in the world this year.
if things were just right he would have stood a big chance of winning
you dont hear as much about dogs out of reggie as you do jasper.
so i would think jasper is the better stud dog
but thats just a matter of opioin.

I can't really say which would be a better choice because I haven't run with Reggie. I have run with Jason Blevins and Jasper several times since he bought him.
Jasper is a really good jump dog. When he opens, he is usually looking at the rabbit. On checks, he busts out with power. Overall, he is a real rabbit dog.
It seems like Lloyd Gray really hurt Jasper's reputation because he wouldn't run him with anyone. After watching Jasper, I sure don't know why he was this way. I am sure Jason would run him, if anyone wanted to see him go.

I can not speak for Reggie but Jasper is one heck of a dog. I run with him on a regular basis so I know what he can do. The reason you don't hear much about his pups winning is beacause most of them are just now getting to the age to start showing good at the trials. I know that several made it through the 1st and 2nd rounds at the world this year. If you watch the hunt results in the Rabbit Hunter magazine you will see that there are alot of Jasper dogs placing in the hunts. I have not talked to anyone who was not totally satisfied with their Jasper pups. I know that I will be breeding a female to him this summer. Also if you want to see him run I know that Jason would show him in the field when his shoulder is healed. Jasper hurt his shoulder a week before the world and didn't get to run.

Kevin Monroe had a young Reggie female at the world hunt that I had the opportunity to see and she looked like a nice dog. She had a lot of nice checkwork and had good speed. From what I saw she won't have any trouble winning in Littlepack. I think her name was Summertime (not sure though?) I'm sure both hounds are capable to throw winners on the trialing circuit.

Here are the facts:
No Jasper pups have placed high in the big hunts....yet.
Reggie had 3 pups place in the top 6 at this years World Hunt. Jessie (Turbo) finished 2nd in the Open class. L&L Red finished 6th in the Champion class. There was another 20 month old female that was the high scoring 2nd place dog in the semis and finished I believe 16th in the opens.
Last year there was a female that finished in the top 5 at the World in the Opens (Apache) that is now running in UKC and has already started winning hunts in that organization.
Reggie is finished in AKC, lacks 4 points to become an international field champion up north, and anyone that has tried to take a Little Pack winner and run in AKC, you know what the dog has to do to win (WALK ON WATER!).
Jasper has way more dogs on the ground than Reggie. Reggie has 6 litters on the ground that are actively running in hunts.
I own a 22 month old female that is extremely hard hitting in the check area and drives out with the track and holds onto the line.......and can fly with it.
Reggie pups are the hardest hitting check dogs I am seeing on the ground right now.
But if you want the proof, just look at the 6 litters that are running trials right now and how they are doing. My female only needed 3 hunts to qualify for the World Hunt and placed in 2 out of 3.
If you want a contender, especially for wide open pounding like we have at big hunts in Indiana, the Reggie pups can flat out roll in the check area!
The other dogs are nice, but this answers the question about what the dogs they are throwing are doing on the ground right now.
I see Reggie becoming a Reproducer in Little Pack soon!

I have a male that just turned three out of Jasper that's getting it done in PP and LP this year. Has been in three PP trials and won two, one being a state hunt and have had him in two big hunts in LP placing in top 10 in North American. He will champion in both formats for sure! He is true on track, does good with alot of pressure, a check dog deluxe. He is about all you could ask for in a dog. I wish I had a kennel full like him!
I think a guy would do good with either stud if he has a good female to start with. dboman

JASPER OR REGGIE
I've ran with Jasper several times, I've watched Reggie run a couple of times they are both real nice hounds. I have a young female out of Jasper I like real well and I've ran with several young dogs out of him that are nice. I've also ran with some young dogs out of Reggie that are nice hounds. In response to no Jasper dogs having big wins just think back to the 2006 LP Hound of the Year. I believe WILLIE is a direct son of Jasper. I don't think you could go wrong with either dog or Jim McGuires Rocky dog or Jimmy Abshires Junie dog, just an opinion, usually not worth much.
