A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Misty...that was a shadow, though she sure does have a hound face doesnt she. Sage is a speed demon, big nose, tons of drive. He tends to be a bit tight mouthed. When he barks you pay attention. Better pull your gun up. These Patch hounds were born knowing rabbits. Sage tracked his first at 10 weeks. Lacie and Misty both opened up on them younger then he did though.
Sage is from the last litter at Bald Eagle Beagle Kennels. Misty and Lacie are both out of Mike Eberle's Hammernpatch Kennels.
All of them run within a half an inch. Sage is 16", Lacie 15 3/4" and Misty 15 1/2". Sage is the lightest at 28lbs.
Lacie has a very nice body, topline and tailset. I'd like to put Mistys head on Lacie's body, but isn't that always the way

I think what amazes me the most is, she is one dog when she goes to work with me. But when when she is out with the dogs and out in the field it is like a Jekyll and Hyde personality. Not a bad thing, she is just very Alpha and very driven. But at work, she is the perfect candidate for a therapy dog. First dog I have had in 32 years of training dogs that I think would be perfect for it. But heaven forbid if a rabbit went running through!!!
Oh Yea, Dozer is the chubby, mostly white one in the middle of both pics!! I can't tell, which one is Sage is the top? It's easy to pic him out in the bottom, he has the most color!
