Tri-Tronics Classic 70XLS...Opinion

I broke a charging prong off of my Beagler-3-XL last night and Tri-Tronics is wanting to "convert" my Beagler into a Classic 70XLS...here are my questions...

1. Is the charging system the same style as the Beagler with the plug-in or is it a cradle system? The prongs seem like a weak link because I always seem to bend one when trying to plug it in.

2. I like the idea of having the tone feature and new batteries but I wondered if they do a nice job with the conversion?...ie what can I expect to get back....Is it still the same housing as the Beagler and only the "guts" change or does it look like a whole new setup.

3. Am I better off to take the trade-in program and go with the G2 system at a 35% discount? Are the G2 features worth the additional $250?

Any input would be appriciated...Thanks

I have a three collar beagler, I didn't know it could be converted I would ask about some kind of warrenty or trade in if Ididn't like them. I traded an old set of sport collars on the new 70's exp. I LOVE these new collars. The tone button is the best. I didn't have to shock dogs all year once they learned the tone. Great for young dogs and stubborn ones as well. Call , Tone, tickle on one and just a few times like that ,you tone and call here they come. You leave them on charge all the time, like a phone it has no memory. Two hours charging and they are good to go again, not like 16-18 hours on the Beaglers. Geeze I sound like a salesman. I wish they would have told me on the trade in that the trash breakers were only eighty more dollars, the collars and everything else is the same price. The new ones don't have the flimsy pegs to bend or break when you charge them either. JMHO

How much do they want to charge you to upgrade? How much are you current collars worth? It may be a better deal to sell your collars then just buy new, then again, maybe not.

It is about the same...I figure mine with only two collars might be worth $175-$200 and that is about what they are giving me for them....might be about $20 or so difference but not enough to screw around with advertising, selling and shipping.

Upgrade to 70XLS's= $175
New 70EXP G2's= $433 shipping included

For that $, I might just upgrade them. Like you said, you won't have to worry about selling them and all the headaches that can go along w/ it...
