I am getting ready to buy a 4 or 5 dog shocking system. My question is how many chargers and cradles do you think I need? Would I need one for each of the collars or can I get by with one or two? Any suggestions?

I just bought a 4 dog unit and I bought cradles for all the collars and power supplys to charge the collars. The collars charge in two hours so you could get by with one cradle, but you have to remember to rotate them. A 4 dog unit could take you 8hrs to charge that way. Two cradles would take 4hrs. Not must sense to me to have 2hr collars and it takes you that long to charge. Beside my memory isn't that good, lol.

LOL @ BOB
I have to agree, one for each collar. That way when you get home and are tired, you can put them on all at one time and then they will be ready for the next morning. Sometimes after a LONG day of running through the woods, when I get home the last thing I want to have to do is remember to switch collars every couple hours... but that is just me.

if you buy a 4 dog unit if comes with all the chargers you will ever need one for each collar and the remote
the collars should only need to be charged once a week if you use it TONS and once a month if you barley use it
If you have a collar that only last two hours there is somthing wrong with it and needs fixed
I recommend a classic 70 G2 EXP this collar allows you to run between 1 and 6 collars and can be interchanged with any collar at any time so if you loose a Collar you can buy a new one with out having to send the unit in
also you can by the system with only one or two collars and can add up to 4 more at any time as you get the extra money
also the NEW G2's receiver is based off the old beagler so it will fit any beagle perfact

Scott when you buy the G2 EXP four dog it doesn't come with all the cradles and power supply unless you ask for them. It comes with one transmitter, collar, cradles for both and power supply. You get two extra blank collars with no shock collars. You have to buy each shock collar, cradle, power supply seprately. For collars 4 to 6 you also have to buy the blank collars to use with the shock collars. You have the option to decide what you can live with.
The collars recharge in 2hrs. not the time before they need charged.
That's why you have to shop around to see who will give you the best package deal.

he's right a friend of mine just bought a 70 G2exp and he had to buy extra cradles and chargers theycome with one two way charger and trans. cradle an 1collar cradle. if you are going to run four collars you will have to buy a dual charger a single charger and threecollar cradles they got you again the non exp g2 two dog collar ibought in 05 came with all the cradles and chargers but is not expandable denny

I've got the new 6 dog Trashbreaker G2 EXP and got the works w/ it, 6 charging cradles, makes it a lot easier than having to worry about rotating the collars around. They're only $20/ea. anyway...

icalled tritronics and the told me to leave the collars and the transmitter on charge any time they were not in use,it will not hurt the batteries because when the green light on the charging cradle is on they are just kept at a full charge like a battery tender for boat batteries and i have never had a battery go dead in the field, denny

Sounds like Tri-Tronics hired a sales manager that use to work for a dog food company. Don't raise the price just give them less, make the bag 40 lbs. instead of 50lbs. With the collars make them pay for every little piece.

Thanks for the info guys. I was just trying to see how cheap I could get them because if I didn't get all the chargers and just got a few I would have saved about $100. But now that I think about it I really don't want to have to worry about rotating collars every few hours when they need charged. I may just stick with the 4 dog for now and just expand later.
Thanks Again and God Bless

I would rather have a collar for each dog. then, later buy more cradles if money was problem. I have a trashbreaker G2 for six dogs and had the same conversation with myself. Glad there that I bought a cradle for each collar.
you will love these new collars.

It is nice to just keep them on the chargers all the time. I used old drawer boxes to make this set up. I tried to keep up with all the stuff for a while, it was just a huge mess and they would tilt over and not charge.
