Finally, it's snowing

Post by jonnyringo »

Been a strange winter here in Ohio. During deer season it seem like Fall. Since then it has been like early November weather but I am happy to report we are gettng a nice covering of the white stuff. Don't think I remember a winter like this without any snow accumulation until mid Janurary. Hopefully we'll be able to run the hounds in the snow for a while now. There was a slight dusting yesterday and I had my dogs out for about four hours. They ran pretty good in it and we ran 6 and bagged 3.

I can understand that. I have seen some of the pics from that part of the country and it doesn't look pretty. We had a bad ice sorm a few years ago here in Ohio and many were left without power for a few weeks. Not good. It has been really odd this winter here in Ohio. No snow to speak of but rain, rain, rain.

We've got tons of snow in the mountains around here, I'll be out chasing rabbits as soon as Sissy is out of heat!

Jonnyring,

I got out some this week myself. Wednesday we bagged 10, and Sunday i just let them run in the snow for 4 hours. The dogs had a blast. I didn't shot anything because i was by myself (nobody wanted to go), so i just let them run. They ran rabbits by me the entire time.

Actually TBrabbitman had truck problems that morning, so i headed out solo.

Steve/Terry/Rod - This Sat. the snow will still be down. We are planning a big pack hunt at Woodbury. Bring all the dogs (no trash runners) you want. Rod has already committed. I'll be bringing three dogs. Be at my house at 8:00 AM. We'll caravan out by 8:10 AM. Release the hounds by 9:00 AM. :D
Be there :!:
