We had a little snow last night and cold after 3 days of hard rain. Went out and ran dogs this morning and got over ran by coyottes. I saw 4 within 100 yards of the dogs. Got my pocket pistol out and shot at them and loaded dogs and came home. I have hunted this area hard for coyottes the last few years and even a few times this year. Had not seen any for some time and then 4 today. Will be hunting coyottes in the morning after work. Does anyone know where to buy liquid nicotine ? I heard that it will kill coyottes faster than anything.

In weatern Okla. they are hunted so hard that just hearing a truck pull into an area their butts are passing their heads getting out there. I've seen men dang near wreck their trucks trying to get ahead of them for a shot or trying to run over them.

This is their breeding season. The males will come in on anything. I think you could go out and bang two sticks together and call a male in this time of the year. LOL The best thing I have found is a red fox pup yip or fox pups playing. Them male yotes come a chargin with that call.

I have heard of people tieing a cat to a tree or putting a litter of kittens in a box to call in yotes. My wife might shoot me if I tried that with her cat. LOL

Be aware that some of the ideas posted on hear are illegal and will get you in big trouble if caught. Live decoys, poison, etc....Do what you need to do to make the kill, but be carefull....Cats do work well, especially if they will make enough noise. Good luck!

1 down and few more to go. Set up my call box with a canine pup tape and within 2 minutes made the shot. It hit with a thud and the shot was not more than 30 yards. I will continue to do this every morning after work and then run my dogs on my days off. Wish more people would take the time to hunt coyottes. If every beagler hunted them just once a week, it would make a difference. I used my .22 with stingers this morning. I know I hit the coyotte because it yelped and the thud when the bullet hit. Found some blood but didnot recover it. I will for now on use my 22-250.

I have 6 live traps with bait cages out right now on the farm with live banty roosters in them. Got 4 bobcats so far this week. I try to call every couple weeks for coyote and bobcats. I have shot 7 coyotes since Christmas but the only bobcats have come in the traps

Be careful when putting anykind of poison out, there are other animals and PETS that can get into these things. So be CAREFUL!!

Pretty much unheard of for yotes to enter a cage trap. Hard enough to get them in a foothold!

And two more met their maker today. Both met the business end of a 22-250 and it was quick. I have been using my cannine pup call and it seems to work better than a rabbit distress.
