The day started off with a temperature of 24 degrees and warmed up to the low 60's. We had 6 chases with the running geting better as the day passed. I am posting a couple of pictures of my hounds Annie, Hunter and Max with a rabbit that they chased for about an hour and 20 minutes. This rabbit started in one place and took the dogs almost out of hearing to another spot. After close to an hour I decided that I would have to move to that area. These buck rabbits are starting to run more like late Feb.I ended up shooting one more giving me 2 for the day.

Very nice! Are they all related?

Yes, they are related. The 2 males are littermates and Annie has the same grandmother as the males. The males are 5 years old and Annie is 16 months. They are all pretty much line bred Gay.
Not hunting?

Ron,
Can't believe you aren't out running this morning! I am stuck in Spencer for guard drill. Would love to be out listening to them run. Hope you haven't had as much trouble as I have finding rabbits. Good luck!

means the hounds like hunting in the thick stuff. thickets and such. the hounds are wagging there tails and the throns are tearing the end of it up. it's a good sign from my eyes. means the dogs will do what it takes to get the job done.
