Beagle Music

Post by bluegrass »

Brian Westra and I were rabbit hunting the other day when I came up with a novel idea, just wanted to float it to other beaglers before I did anything with it....

I have heard a LOT of beaglers comment on how much they love "beagle music". We all know what this means, listening to a pack of hounds in pursuit. What about this though...what if someone were able to record the sounds of a pack running a rabbit from up close, say at the collar of one of the best hounds in the pack??? If that sound came in clear enough it could be put on a CD and listened to anytime...

If anyone has any ideas on this, please feel free to post......Tony

I had Mark Carder record some beagle music for me a couple of months ago. It's great because I can pop it into my CD player in the truck when I want to get the hounds in on a break down... sometimes this can make catching the hounds a whole lot easier !! :D

thanks to Chuck Kitchell for this posting to the showbeagle list.. I thought it appropriate for this thread ;-)

"A day with beagles means fresh air and exercise with the additional
pleasure of listening to the music of hounds. In the majority of people, the
cry of hounds awakes a feeling of enthusiasm which is difficult to explain and
induces them to follow as best they can."

I recorded mine running a rabbit by me this summer and now have it as a ringtone on my phone.

I used my phone to video them (you can only see a flash of them going by in the brush).
I then e-mailed the video to my e-mail address.
A friend converted the video file to an audio file.
I then e-mailed it back to my phone and saved it as my ringtone.

The only problem is that I get strange looks right before the laughter in business meetings and in public places. I also have to remember to turn it off during a field trial.

BlueGrass,
It was a pleasure to meet you a the S.M.B.C

Good luck with your venture, from the responses I've read, it just might fly. Good Luck.
