One of my best hounds got killed by 2 Wolfs today rabbit hunting. I had 3 hounds out today, the dogs got the first hare going in about 3 minutes. They chased this one for about 1 hr until my son shot it he is 12. the hounds split up to look for another to chase. One dog went to the east and 2 went to the north west i stayed with Nellie she was towards the east she chased this hare for about 20 minutes the other 2 hounds were chasing down in the cedar swamp. I cought Nellie and headed out when i reached the logging rd Lucy came runnin towards me, i leashed her up then told my son to take them to the truck while i went to find Miss Flirt. My 8 year old newphew and i went to track her down. She was close but not barking I could tell by the beep on the tracking box. But she kept on movingaway from me. I knew there was trouble when i saw wolf tracks on flirts tracks runnin down the hare trails. I started yelling as loud as i could i thought it might help. My signal was very strong now but Flirt still wouldn,t come. I walked up out of the swamp and saw blood every where, and 2 wolves runnin away. They had her just about tore in half, not a good sight to see. She was still alive but i don't know how. I picked her up and carried her out i was covered in blood. My brother met me at my truck and we raced of to the vets. She stayed alive the whole way there. then at the vets i put her down. Very sad day for me., I will post the pictures tomorrow of miss Flirt. If you have a week stomach beware. I HATE WOLVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for your loss. What a bummer. Did you get a shot at the wolves or is it illegal to kill them?
Again, my heartfelt sympathy. Must be a terrible thing to experience  .

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss!!! Something definitely needs to be done with the wolves. I think the general public needs to be educated on what’s going on. Once again, sorry to hear about this.

I told you my story yesterday about my hound getting cought by 2 wolves, I will post the picture. This is pretty grafic but this is what a wolf con do in about 2 seconds.

Edited by Bev: rabbitfever, I changed this to a link instead of an open picture. I'm afraid it might be too graphic for some of our younger members.

Sorry for your loss Rabbit Fever! I was in the UP this past week and came across wolf tracks, it made the hare on my neck stand up even though they were old.

sorry about your loss we in the last couple of weeks we ran into several fresh wolf tracks all single tracks the bad thing is the one spot is my best place to run the stupid state we live in and the tree huggers are the problem they say there was 9 shot during deer season i think the number is higher then that and my hat is of to those people i think one of the main wolf support groups are out of ashland or superior everyone that looses a dog should send the pictures everyday to them for awhile.i'm afraid were all going to be in trouble with the tree huggers because we are the minority.
