Just got one of these guns and this weekend took it out for the first time. I missed 7 before I finally got one, but it was the most fun I have had in a long time. If I can talk the rest of my group into buying one, we will be saving lots of rabbits for breeding stock next year. haha.

For you guys that have them, what loads are you shooting out of them?? I was shooting Federal 3" number 7.5 shot. I didn't pattern it yet with these loads.

I haven't got anything to pattern very well out of mine yet. And it shoots very low. Still experimenting.

I have a super comanche and it is the most fun I have had also. One thing, like most shotguns, unless you are really lucky the point of aim is often not the center of the pattern. The lucky thing about the super comanche is the adjustable sights. Get some paper and just start adjusting so that the center of the pattern is where the point of aim is.

Took me a while with mine, but now it is dead on.. 9 shot through 7.5 shot works well after that you really get thin patterns quick. Good luck.

Oh I forgot another way to help with quick aquisition of target with the Super Comanche is to paint the front sight post with a bright nail polish. I have the silver model and it really helps.

I don't know much about the Commanche but I just ordered a 14 inch .410 barrel with vent rib for my T/C Contender and an Uncle Mikes bandolier shoulder holster. Going to give it a try with Duke and company on the Jan. 6-7th hunt. Should be interesting. I opted for the longer barrel for noise reduction, more velocity and sight picture. This will be a first for me so I will have an excuse if I miss a lot.

Were going to have a lot of fun, hope the rabbits accomodate. Ed, do you have any kennel space in case I run one dog one day and another the next?

If they aren't climbers I have an unused chainlink kennel that is about 14' x 24' x 4' high.
We can always tie them up inside if they do climb.
As for the rabbits - we have plenty of them around. The problem is deciding on which spot to hunt. Me, Terry and Rod have located several nice spots with thousands of acres to hunt.

I use a T/C Encore with the 15 in Barrell got away from the big guns
My friends in KY wouldn't let me come back if I used anything bigger than a 410
have had a lot of fun with the pistol got 1 for eight last year after I bought it
I use it on Hare too am 1 for three so far this year
I use Federal #6 gun patterns good at 25 yards with about anything
after that it is a crap shoot
took the rear site off and can hit better now just using the front site
like a reg shotgun

I just got my Comanche and it says that when you shot with the 410 caliber, you must use the choke screws provide to stop the centrifugal spin of hte shot wad.
Does this mean you have to use the choke or does it mean that if you use the choke you have to use the one provided?

You should probably use the one that came with it. If you look at it, it looks like it has straight rifling in it. I believe if you don't use that one, the rifling will spin your was and shot, throwing your pattern everywhere.

You have to use the one provided. If you put it in and look down the barrel you will see it has 2 little tits designed to stop the spin of the wad. Since you can shoot 45's throught it too, it has riflings. A shotgun does not so the wad isnt supposed to be spinning. But always be sure to take the choke out before you shoot 45's.
