when should I try to breed my rabbits this year?????

If u got a heat lamp in your hutch,cover on the door,just put MR.Buck in with MRS buck then give him about 3 weeks in there and see what happens, I have a friend in Forked River ,NJ, he breeds year around.........

Put the buck in with the doe not vice-versa. I would only leave the buck in for about 2-3 days. As long as the buck is with the doe he will try to breed. eventually the will start fighting and he will "fornicate" himself to death.

I have had probably over a hundred litters and believe me the temperature has not made a difference to a healthy litter and a
healthy Doe. I can remember one time that I thought that the
little ones born the night before must be freezing because of the
extremely low temperatures. I think it was single digits or below
freezing but when I stuck my hand in the nest to feel how cold those
naked baby rabbits were I was shocked. The belly hair that the
mother had pulled had those babies as warm as a hand in a rabbit
fur lined glove. Even though the babies had no hair the nest was
made from mom's hair and they were warm as toast. After that
I never worried about the temperature just the wind or any draft.

Also if you leave the buck in with the Doe and leave the two you
stand a chance of having a castrated buck when you come back.
Some Does are quite mean.

From what I have learned you bring the doe to the buck. When the doe is out of her home turf she is less aggresive.

put the doe in with the buck let him breed her and remove we have a rabbitry and use lights or heating pads made to fit in the nest boxes, in 28 days put your nestbox in, i use pine chips in their boxes the does will mix this with their fur. we have bred show newzealands for many years and found this to work the best

They are right. I got my word crossed. You should put the doe in with the buck.
