So how did everybody in WV do on the first day of season. I went out with my 2 females. One is 3 years and the other is 8 1/2 months old. They jumped 5 and i got 2. Had some pretty good running.

I turned my 3 hounds loose at 7:30 and had a chase going within 10 minutes. They circled that rabbit 4 times but we didn't get to see him. The rabbit turned in below us an there was no way for it to get by without us seeing it. All at once there was silence and then a rabbit squealing. My hounds had caught the first rabbit of the season. We had eight more chases with me shooting one of those. We had some very good running. All in all it was a good day to be out.

Had to work.

Dogs circled 2 and ran another through a woven fence.
I was surprised my dogs didn't find a way under or through it.
I wasn't in the right spot to shoot either that circled (hunting by myself).

After the frost melted off, it got tough. The dogs would act like they were going to produce a rabbit, and would work through an area with nothing.
I only hunted in the morning because other obligations for the afternoon.

Jumped somewhere around 18 and got 7. Hunted some big clear cuts close to Elizabeth.
