What are your opinions on lemon beagles? Are the pups easy to sell? Does anyone know anything about a dog called FC Billy B?

Most of my hounds are lemon/white and I do get excited when I see an add for lemon/white pups. Color is just one factor to consider. I would also like the pups to be out of good hunting stock and a fast line so they will fit my pack. Most houndsmen like what they got. I like lemons but there are far more who have and perfer Tri Color, Black & Tan, Blue Ticks ect. Therfore there are fewer lemons to select from. This is why I get most of my pups from my own breeding program. I have never had any problems selling lemon pups, but along with their color they come from excelent stock and I always sell pups at a reasonable price.

If the dogs are quality performers & producers & you breed carefully, it won't matter if they are green, they will be in demand. One thing I have really noticed more & more is that people are hungry for a quality product & honesty from the person who is selling it. I have heard so many stories from people about crooked dog deals & trying out multiple dogs that did the opposite of what was promised, it blows my mind that with as many dogs as are for sale at any given time that so many are sub-par or even worse & to top that the smoke that is blowed on how wonderful they are by the seller, knowing full well they are lying for the quick buck.
I would suggest you pick your dogs based on your likes & dislikes & not on the best selling colors or you will never be satisfied, but what you do is your business, I am just giving you my opinion.
Good luck with your dogs,
Plowboy

I fully agree with both these gentleman !!!!! Today the lemons may seem to be in big demand tommorow blueticks. As Plowboy said i believe today the demand for Quality is at an all time high.
I think you can talk with anyone on this board that sells good Quality dogs and you will find there is always a market for their dogs. Be they blue or purple.
I know from my brother that plowboy normally has a waiting list on his pups. But you have to look at the quality of dog that he is known for producing. As with all dogs you are going to get a bad one sometime or one that just dosen't turn out as good as the rest of the litter. And i'm sure he would back up what he has sold.
So I don't think it's as much the color of the dog as much as that the quality of the dogs there breeding[/u]
