Dodge Dakota or Toyota Tacoma ?

Post by New York Hillbilly »

I'm on my way to work so I have to make this short. (a first...lol) Been looking at trucks all morning and can get a Dakota 8cyl (18-20mpg) with power everything including 6-way seats, windows, locks, etc. automatic transmission, air, 4x4, Club Cab...........22,600 with 0% financing. Tacoma for the same money buys me a 4 cyl, 2 door extended cab, crank windows, locks ......4x4 but a real plain jane. Anybody out there own Dakota trucks? Give me the real deal!
Thanks,
NYH...................off to go make some dough to pay for it now.
When my life on earth is ended....this is all I'm gonna say...Lord I've been a hard working pilgrim on the way!

Owned a four banger Toyota years ago... Decent truck, but if you're going to pull anything large a four banger just isn't going to cut it. I eventually traded out for a v6 Toyota with bells and whistles... Another decent truck, but never got the gas mileage that it should have.

Funny thing I ended up paying same price for the v6 Toyota as I did for my current v8 Chevy. I'll stick with the v8, which gets better gas mileage than the v6 Toyota.

Take Jimmy and Tracy's advice... go with the v8 Chevy. As for the bells and whistles.... they're kind like a super model. Nice to look at and hold onto, but after a few years they're going to tear up and cost a heck of a lot to fix.

Right on PAhunter,, how much of them Chevys, Fords and Dodges are made in Mexico was my next question??? Keep the oil changed and your Toyota will be with you for well over 300,000 miles easy!!! Can you say Tundra V8,, case closed. We probably employ more Americans now than any car company in the world...
