Stop Barking...
I'm going to have to try one of those corrective collars because I can't go anywhere for 10 minutes without him barking. If theres no human in sight, he howls his head off! I spend about 250$ a month getting someone to watch him and getting him boarded because I can't leave him here to bark like that!
Pretty pathetic, I know I should of done something sooner, but he seems to go up hill and then down hill again.. I can even try leaving him with two frozen kongs and he still howls his head off!
What kind of collar would you suggest?

Just out of curiousity I'm going to look that up..
And I checked walmart, I want something a little better than what I could get at walmart. I want something that will actually work, where I don't have to wrry about if I have someone to come over to watch the dog for 3 hours <between me and my boyfriends shifts>..

If you do get a shock collar, check it often, the prongs have a tendancy to work their way into the dogs neck, and cause sores. I would take it off when ever you are at home so it don't do that. Check his neck daily, for they sometimes will burn the dog with out them barking just a reaction to the prongs I guess.

when you put the collar on the first time you might want to keep an eye on him. dont stand right there but when you leave and he starts to bark he will most likely bark because of the shock and the collar will keep shocking as long as he is barking and he will have a fit the first few times. just keep an eye on him. i found that out the hard way. put one on a female i had and she went nuts when it was on and i had to run back down there and hold her mouth shut to keep her from barking and she finally figured out that when she stops barking it stops shocking....keith

Seriously though try http://barkbusters.com/. I think they have a written lifetime guarantee of the dog and it takes only about 2 hours of your time at your home. I've been thinking about contacting them for my whole kennel. Could be interesting.
I'VE GOT SOME DOGS THAT ARE GONNA HURT SOME FEELINGS!!!!! I just hope it's not mine. Home of Wild Hare Kennels and FC Creek Woods Blue.
FP this is the one that we got . We have used it for over 5 years we purchased 3 and all we have had to do is replace the batteries at about 6 bucks each. They Do work Noit the most expensive and you can get em at wal-mart or that peta place petsmart.

FP, I stopped by Cabela's on my way home from work today and looked at everything they had. I ended up buying a Sportdog model BC-103. I cost $59.99 and it is the perfect size for beagle. Small and has six levels of stimulation. The stimulation adjusts automatically each time the dog barks witin a 30 second time period. It starts off with a warning tone and works up to level six.
